No. Now you enter trade Kemba and go completely young territory. Ugh

Yeah, I'd be open to trading Kemba in the next 12 months. Look for a younger up and coming star to put alongside Jaylen and Tatum. Move into a longer term plan.

Ainge and Stevens have screwed this team up something awful with their small-ball obsession. Was Myles Turner too tall for our team ?

Maybe a conflict between the two on bigs. Danny has signed a lot of bigs the last year or two. Stevens hasn't played them a lot.

Stevens has been quoted that small ball is his style because he could never recruit top bigs at Butler.  Well, this is the NBA, and bigs rule in the playoffs.

Looks like the Celtics are down to Williams and Tacko (if he's re-signed). Maybe they have bigger plans for those guys.

Right now, without improvements up front, the team is worse.

Yeah. But I always argued that we weren't a real contender when both Irving and Horford left us.

Don't need to trade Walker right away though. Now that Hayward is gone it's an easy task to stay out of the luxury tax (Ainge would be a moron if we didn't). Just let Walker build up his value again via a productive season and then see what offers are there, although I don't exactly expect an All Star coming back.

Kind of yes. Looks like Ainge insisted on Oladipo or Warren.
The Celtics clearly don't want to invest a lot of money in contracts for replacable bigs.

I don't understand why a lot of people were opposed to this plan anyway. The playoffs showed us that the team goes as far as Tatum and Brown bring it.

Can we finish the off-season and see what the roster looks like before answering this poll? ::)

@mdotbrown
Danny Ainge’s garage sales are just pictures of things he almost bought.

C - Timelord, Theis (team option), Grant Williams
F- Tatum, Grant Williams, Ojeleye
F- Brown, Nesmith
G- Smart, Langford
G- Walker, Pritchard

This is where the team stands at the moment

Yes it is better than last season, if Danny did didly squat

Theis, Tatum, Brown, Smart, Walker helped the Celts reach ECF.  And now you add Nesmith, Pritchard (good feeling about both),  Langford (hopefully healthy soon),  Timelord (no more issues please).    Vs last season bubble, relying on Wannamaker to provide off bench scoring

Celts hopefully can add another big and seasoned guard.  I wouldn't even mind if they brought back Wannamaker for cheap

God no. Two rookies, a broken Romeo, the Williams and semi. Gross

We are an entire 23.5 hours past the start of free agency, Ainge hasn't completed the roster yet and we are supposed to already be able to judge this year's roster to last year's?

If he is dealing Kemba to Knicks for a pair of seconds, Frank and a TPE yes C's are worse. Losing Hayward, Wannamaker and Kanter isn't a big deal.

You know the off-season isn't over yet, right?

I know, right? We always knew this was a possibility. Let’s wait to see how this all plays out first. If we end up with something like Thompson(MLE) and KCP, then I won’t freak out too much. We are very likely to add at least a couple of vets to this team. It’s really only the bench that needs work. We’re essentially rolling with our playoff rotation right now. A couple of healthy vets probably get us past MIA in the ECF.

It's definitely not a finished product. If we can add a Thompson/Ibaka/Cauley-Stein/Baynes level big and a good veteran (Teague, please Danny!), then I think this team will be definitely on the same level as last year.

I think Tatum will make another step in his progression. 26/8/5 with his same good level of defence. Book it! I think Brown will have made steps forward - he seems to add to his game every off-season. I'll be looking for an improved passing display. I also think the two Williams' and Langford will be considerably better than they were last year, as it would be the natural progression. Nesmith will immediately be at worst the 3rd best shooter on the team, Pritchard could even help out too.

I'm not too worried about this team. It took the Bulls until Jordan was 27 and Pippen was 25 to win a ring ;)
