Hassan Whiteside is still a free agent. I wonder where he’ll land?

Raptors NEEDS a center after the departure of both Ibaka and Gasol. Might have to settle for Whiteside.

Looks like it's Baynes instead.

I like the fit there. Ibaka (or Ibaka+Baynes) would have been better, but Baynes is several steps up from what Gasol was last year. He gives them some great size next to Siakam, and the shooting ability to punish anyone that sags off their C
I'm bitter.

So less than the full MLE? Honestly, given the choice I'd rather have Baynes at 2/$14 million than Thompson at 2/$19 million. I guess we'll see how Thompson fits, though; there's a reason Danny wanted him last year

Great deal for the Raptors and for Aron Baynes.

Baynes gets back a starting position on a playoff team. Very nice.
Wish him the best :).

Looks like Gasol to Lakers can happen because of a trade to free up cap room.  The Cavs are getting JaVale McGee and a 2nd round pick and sending Jordan Bell and Alonzo McKinnie to the Lakers.  Bell and McKinnie have non-guaranteed deals, so the Lakers will waive them and create the room needed to sign Gasol.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

Was Gasol any good last year?

E’Twan Moore just signed with Phoenix for 2.4M. I think it would have been nice to have him add some scoring punch off the bench. Or are we better off with Teague?

Was Gasol any good last year?

He looked awful in the series against us and was preparing to go back to Europe for good.

The Lakers would have been much better off going with Baynes.

Or maybe keep Dwight Howard? Can’t see the appeal with Marc G on that Lakers team.

The Lakers couldn't afford Baynes.  Gasol took the vet minimum.

I prefer TT over Baynes cause Baynes is injured all the time. You cannot depend on Baynes.
