Opens up a roster spot at the very least.

I suspect his journey does not end there, but finds him back in Europe somewhere.

I'm expecting Kanter to be out the door to Memphis if things shake out a certain way (namely if the C's get a big for Hayward).

Watching him before the season last year and the times he saw action early in the season, to me, and I know many on this board, its was clearly apparent Poirier simply didn't have NBA talent.

What the heck did Ainge and his scouting group see in the guy that we didn't? What made them see his play and think, yeah let's give this guy $2.5 million guaranteed for a couple years?

I know Edwards, Waters, Poirier, and Tacko were 2nd rounders or undrafted and you can't expect much from them but man, I really never saw what Ainge saw in any of them. I think none of them could be on the 15 man roster this coming season and that would be okay by me.

A lot of people were mad at him for the way he constructed the roster last year and the lack of trades in season... I’m not sure he will take a different approach this time.

He never got playing time but when he did he always looked a step slow. He might have done something on a much worse team. He’s like 28 so that was probably the only chance he’ll get.

Good riddance!

The C's opened up a roster spot. The Thunder earned some easy money in the process. I like the trade! 8)

In the past couple of days, I've seen way too many people insisting that it would take #30 or another first to dump Poirier's contract, which is completely insane.

This deal is right in line with what you should expect, if anything I'm surprised we didn't throw in a protected 2nd going the other way, too
I'm bitter.

They were never gonna get rid of him without attaching the cash. Adding him to the Memphis deal would have meant adding the cash, too

Yeah it's more a matter of who was willing to eat up a roster spot.
