And that’s trading Jaylen Brown.

Sure, we can move Hayward for turner (puke) or kemba for a Jrue type but that’s just tinkering around the edges.  You want to really go for it, it has to be brown.  He’s the 2020 version of Al Jefferson; a player with tantalizing talent that will satisfy the other team but like Jefferson, isn’t THAT guy (cue the, Jaylen is already 10 times the player as Al chant).

Brown and parts could get you in the door for harden or Beal or potentially another established star that make you a contender right now.  From there you can trade Hayward for a big and or Kemba if you like to balance the team.

But these little moves or waiting on Jaylen and Tatum to get to their prime just isn’t it.  Just going to lead to many years of hope.  I know most fans wouldn’t have the cajones for such a move but will be interested in whether DA does.

some folks are just happy with the 'run it back'  every year plan as if they other teams are just hanging around and waiting for the Cs to grow. You have to make  your win now moves. You cant get something without giving up something. You are right Brown may have to go. Any deal that brings in Harden without giving up Tatum must be considered.

Brown is 1,000% not the problem.

I would not trade Brown.

what makes you think other teams only want your 'problem' players? You have to trade value to get value.

Harden wants to join Durant and Irving in Brooklyn. That should tell you all you need to know about the guy. Those three cancerous head-cases will implode in Year 1. Too much ego and too much insanity to work. Durant and Whack Boy have already declared themselves co-head coaches.

Not about whether someone is the problem or not.  Need to be proactive.

Swapping Brown for Beal doesn't make that big a difference contention-wise.

Not worth it.

every year people say brown cant get better,  that he won't be one of the best in the nba, and yet every year he continues to improve.  dude scored like 30 in a playoff game and people still don't think he's good.  i'm not trading brown.   ]

also,  i live around dc.   beal isn't really on the market.  the owner loves him.

Well he likely is, or at least ore valuable to a winning team in today's NBA. I dont think a Brown for Beal moves you that much closer to contention.

I dont see how trading a 24 year old borderline all star at the wing is "reasonable." I mean for Harden, maybe. But short of an MVP level return it aint happening. It int happen for Butler, George, Kawhi, ect.

What did I miss when Beal became a HOF caliber player? Plus this is a guards league and you will need People sho can defend guards and removing brown doesn’t get you that.

Removing Kemba and Hayward for a playmaker and rim protector is really what needs to happen.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
With a healthy Hayward, we are in the Finals this year. And that is with a semi-hobbled Kemba and both of our young stars still on rookie contracts. If Kemba can get his knee feeling right again, he is that All-Star starter, All-NBA guy that we signed who is one of the premier scorers in the NBA. Trading our most versatile player for yet another scorer isn't of interest to me with our current mix players. I get the excitement with Harden and I could probably get behind it if we did make a trade, but there is no reason to trade Brown for Beal.

Fools gold.

Milwaukee probably beats us too.  Toronto in a regular year with HCA maybe beats us.  Clippers would have been favored against us too.  Never mind that the lakers almost definitely take us out.

So we’re not nearly as close as people think.
