Jeff Teague?

Teague made $19 million last year.  Are you saying with the MLE?

George Hill (just traded to Pelicans). I'd love him as my back up PG.  trouble is, all we have to offer of any value are picks, and the Pels are flooded with picks.

I have always been intrigued by Ish Smith.

Killed celtics offensively.  Not much to offer above Kemba or waters defensively.

At best he should be the third PG who plays backup minutes on those days when Kemba sits out.

The team needs an experienced PG who can step in and start when needed.

I'm not so sure about that. He may end up being a good player. I'd want to give him a chance. I really appreciate how good defensively he is given his size.

We also may draft someone.

Yes. Teague is most likely going to be a backup, and will not make anywhere close to $19 million.  I doubt he even gets the full Taxpayer MLE.

That would be a decent pickup if true about below full taxpayer MLE.

Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

I have always been intrigued by Ish Smith.

Ish Smith has been a quality bench guy for a long time, I could easily see him putting in something similar to Leandro Barbosa's half-season run with us.

Actually, just looked it up: Barbosa's numbers are worse than I recall? Memory's a funny thing, but I could have sworn he gave us more than 5/1/1.5

Boston can match salaries on George Hill by consolidating some bench pieces (particularly if Kanter picks up his option) with future seconds. Just saying.

I've been unimpressed with George Hill for several years now. I don't think he's much, if any, of an upgrade to Wanamaker on the court, regardless of what the numbers say.

Or offer the 30th pick.

Markets pretty thin on decent backup point guards.

Ideal world for me is Killian Hayes who I think could give you legit minutes at the 1 his rookie year. I’m also perhaps irrationally high on RJ Hampton.

After that it’s stuff like Jeff Teague who is totally washed and Ish Smith who doesn’t belong in a playoff rotation either.
