What if charlotte struck out on another guy and decided to go for Hayward because of it? Deal should have been done yesterday with Indy.

It’s just infuriating

Again all speculation but this deal came out of nowhere when many blue check marks were heavily reporting on a sign and trade up until an hour ago with Indy

also,  why not get it done in the two days they extended the deadline.  hayward may have taken the deal from indy without going to the market.

If I am Ainge , no sign and trade. That roster is garbagio unless they are adding unprotected firsts to take back some of those horrible contracts. Can you imagine if Rozier got sent back here, this forum would explode! 😂

Danny is not responsible for Hayward taking 120M guaranteed deal...with his bad luck injuries, this contract is a no brainer or him to take and a horrible one for Hornets to offer. I guess Hayward will never see the Finals but he is beyond set for life as are all of his descendants for hundreds of years! Hayward was a class act on our team and wish the best but hope he is not expecting lots of postseason play the next four years.

I just find it hard to believe Hayward, who is loaded, would prefer an addition 5 mil a year vs what Indiana wanted to offer. Just going by reports of 4 years 100 mil

I truly believe being home and with his family is worth the 5 mil less a year. Let’s not forget the stupid endorsement deal he got with that Chinese shoe company, guy is loaded.

I believe, and this is just my opinion, he took it because Ainge wouldn’t accept Indys deal.

Reliable sources said Gordon wanted Indy, I think ainges greed cost us big.

Do you think Antoine or any number of other broke players wish they’d gotten an extra $20 million?
Do you have any doubt that Antione or any of those other broke players wouldn't have burnt through that as well?

not taking sides but just so you guys are aware, Gordon’s wife is worth a ton more than GH himself

Where is here money from?

Are you sure you aren't thinking of Tom Brady?
I'm bitter.

Charlotte drafted arguably the best player in the draft and just signed the best free agent this off season. One hell of a week for Jordan.
I agree. Hornets went from a bottom feeder team to now very interesting

I bet this offer doesnt even get made if Ainge would have have taken the deal immediately.   Him "negotiating"  left time for Charlotte to up their offer to a place where it was take it or leave it time for Gordon.

What are you not understanding? Gordon has to agree to any deal, and it looks like he chose the guaranteed money over whatever Indy was offering, which was around the $100 Million over 4 years deal (though unclear if it was all guaranteed like the Charlotte deal).

Also, this may be a sign that Gordon's foot is less stable long-term than was let on. There were already concerns that he had ongoing pain in the foot, so he may have chosen the long-term security in large part due to concerns about the longevity of his foot holding up after the injury.

Welp, there goes the S&T route. Can't believe that Gordy won't even insist on them doing a S&T to give us a trade exception to give us that flexibility. If so, then screw him, though it very well could be us not asking for it either given that we're not likely to use it.

Kinda disturbing to lose Kyrie, Horford and Hayward in such a short space of time. 3 major acquisitions. Two big FA signings and the other a trade demand guy.

And they all chose to leave.

Two of those guys left for massive paydays that we were never gonna match. Kyrie leaving is definitely a black mark, but Horford and Hayward got huge overpays from other teams.

Heck, Turner, Morris, and Rozier did, too. That might actually be a selling point for us with FAs ("Come play for us, at the end of your contract someone will overpay you by tens of millions")
I'm bitter.

They could still S&T in exchange for us giving them something (like a pick), but yeah we aren't getting any more than a TPE out of this

Don't see us not wanting that TPE, having it gives us the flexibility to use it.

Pivot to s&t with Lakers with Kemba for ad? Lol!

Bring on the signing of the scrapheap bottom of the barrel unrestricted free agent. Aron Baynes is on line  one

Yep. Olynyk too. Stevens makes guys look good and they land great deals afterwards.
