I'm not sure there's anything from Charlotte's roster I would want in return. We may be better off not participating in a sign and trade.

We’d get a giant trade exception, which helps.  Monk or Bridges are ok.

Yeah, a trade exception would be ok.

I just find it hard to believe Hayward, who is loaded, would prefer an addition 5 mil a year vs what Indiana wanted to offer. Just going by reports of 4 years 100 mil

I truly believe being home and with his family is worth the 5 mil less a year. Let’s not forget the stupid endorsement deal he got with that Chinese shoe company, guy is loaded.

I believe, and this is just my opinion, he took it because Ainge wouldn’t accept Indys deal.

Reliable sources said Gordon wanted Indy, I think ainges greed cost us big.

Do you think Antoine or any number of other broke players wish they’d gotten an extra $20 million?
Do you have any doubt that Antione or any of those other broke players wouldn't have burnt through that as well?

Charlotte drafted arguably the best player in the draft and just signed the best free agent this off season. One hell of a week for Jordan.

5 million a year for 4 years is not chump change. Plus being the clear #1 option on your team is attractive.

Another good point. He clearly was not satisfied with his role in Boston, so this probably was yet another big pro for him - big fish in a little pond. This clearly was a good separation for all parties involved; just wish we could've got a little something for it.
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

Kinda disturbing to lose Kyrie, Horford and Hayward in such a short space of time. 3 major acquisitions. Two big FA signings and the other a trade demand guy.

And they all chose to leave.

I guess he had less faith in himself than many of us had in him....

You don't go to Charlotte unless you want to retire.

That's a ton of money, but I'm definitely questioning him from a basketball standpoint. That team is bonafide lottery team.
2021 Houston Rockets
PG: Kyrie Irving/Patty Mills/Jalen Brunson
SG: OG Anunoby/Norman Powell/Matisse Thybulle
SF: Gordon Hayward/Demar Derozan
PF: Giannis Antetokounmpo/Robert Covington
C: Kristaps Porzingis/Bobby Portis/James Wiseman

not taking sides but just so you guys are aware, Gordon’s wife is worth a ton more than GH himself

What if charlotte struck out on another guy and decided to go for Hayward because of it? Deal should have been done yesterday with Indy.

It’s just infuriating

Again all speculation but this deal came out of nowhere when many blue check marks were heavily reporting on a sign and trade up until an hour ago with Indy

Would be cool if that whole roster wasn't trash.

The only way they could clear the $9 million or so is with Batum (no way), Rozier (also no way), or Cody Zeller (I mean I'd probably do that because his contract could be traded, but I don't see why they would)
I'm bitter.

This is precisely why Ainge held on to all his draft picks and prospects. Those guys plus Tatum, Brown and Smart are our team now.

Signings can't be official for a while, they could still have mucked things up even if we came to an agreement with Indy

Just look at Morris and the Spurs last year, or Deandre Jordan and the Mavs
I'm bitter.

This doesn’t make the team better....

I don't blame Hayward. He is a great player. For some reason, Gordon was able to move past his injury, but the rest of the organization couldn't. It's like everyone on the team forgot just how good Gordon was, and treated him differently because of that injury.

Why Rozier no Way?

Zeller is a good candidate. Stevens liked him pre NBA
