If I am Danny Hayward gets dealt to Indiana ONLY for Turner AND Dipo or Brogdon

Dont give up that then no sign and trade.

F him.

We hold the leverage, he can go to NYK at less than he wanted to make.

You are really angry at GH for doing exactly what a player with an option and UFA does. 3 parties in this.

Im not angry, just had enough of him and his drama.

He is trying to put boston over a barrell. We are losing out on free agents because this has not been resolved yet. Every hour longer it takes is potentially 1 less good free agent that we might have needed.

This is acting like he has all the leverage, he has zero.

Go to NYK who still has some capspace or get back some serious assets.

Sounds like he's made up his mind on the Pacers. Gordon's part is done here. He's not the Pacers GM. He's not negotiating the trade.

And Danny doesnt and should never take back Indianas trash just to appease Gordon.

Gordon wants Indiana
Gordon also wants 25 million dollars a season for the next 4 seasons
Gordon wants Boston to take Indianas garbage to make it happen.

No

Dipo and Turner for Hayward at 25  million.

Or

Gordon can sign in Indiana for the MLE or sign in NYK and get murdered by the press and have a miserable family life.

Darth Yoda is an angry elf.

Lol. You do seem really angry.

Gordon doesn't owe us anything. He's an FA. It's actually a great opportunity to be in a position to acquire actual assets for a player that's decided to bolt. He could be petty like Kevin Durant was in trying to stop the Nets from trading D'Angelo Russell to GSW. Everyone involved here seems to be working together in good faith.

two likely scenarios...deal is done and they are sitting on the announcement.

OR

they are playing some serious hardball and all rational relationships have broken down. I thought given the history between Brad and Gordon they would be cordial on the way out, but this may be more contentious than even I thought. We know Gordon wants to go to Indiana the only reason the deal is not getting done here is because the teams cannot agree on compensation for Hayward. In any negotiation it is helpful to know who has the leverage. Does Indy want Hayward as much as Hayward wants Indy? If they do, then Boston has the leverage, if they do not, then there is no leverage. Hayward has exerciced his leverage he has opted out, he is now watching two titans clash over his situation. Short of playing any goodwill he has with Celtics to go easy on the Pacers in their demands he has no leverage. None, he cannot even opt into his Celtics contract because that is done. There is some serious hardball going on here if there is no deal in place.

We also havent missed out on anybody.  Trade goes through Celtics have very few holes and needs.  Backup PG maybe. But there are still players out there.

I don't think the bolded is true, nor do I think it even matters in this negotiation.  The negotiation is between the Pacers FO and the Celtics FO, it isn't like Hayward has any part of it, other than he opted out and Danny knows what he prefers.

He is Dark Yoda mode right now

Imo all sides are greedy. Hayward could get fed up and just sign with the Knicks. And Pacers and Celts come up empty handed

Hayward should make up his mind soon, because Knicks could sign someone else/pull out

Even if New York loses its space with another free agent signing, Hayward still could have leverage. He could claim to Indiana he's willing to return to the Cs or is interested in going to a team like the Warriors in a sign-and-trade.

I am not completely sure who has the more leverage in this negotiation?  I am not sure it is us.  I mean we want this thing done so we can go after other FA's for the rest of the roster.  We want to do a S&T so we don't lose Gordon for nothing.

Indiana doesn't have to do this deal.  They can just stand pat.  The longer this goes on, the more likely it is that Hayward is a Celtic next season.
The teams that can sign him with cap space have all but dried up.

Gordon’s options are a shorter term deal with the Knicks, the MLE or coming back to the Celtics.  He doesn’t have leverage.

But, you’re also right that Indiana is under no obligation.

Happy wife. Happy life.

Also, at what point, if any, does Indiana just walk away from this messy situation? They owe no consideration to either Hayward or the Celtics, for those fans that believe that we have all the leverage.

While I don't believe that he will play for NY, Atlanta, or Charlotte, if he does, it wouldn't shock me if Robin stays in Indiana.

Can Indiana find another team with a wing for $20 million or so that would want Turner? Maybe, but I haven't gone through all the rosters.

Ultimately, I would be satisfied with Turner and McDermott. Getting nothing is totally unacceptable.

Indiana can stand pat, sure, but at some point soon they have to move Turner and Oladipo and look ahead with their roster. The longer they hang on to those two, the more they lose value and hold back the development of their roster.

An opportunity to land an all-star caliber player in his prime who want to stay long term doesn't come around often for teams like the Pacers. He'd be a fantastic fit on their roster. Hayward, TJ Warren, Sabonis and Brogdon is a great core.

Still not the worst outcome.

Best: sign and trade with Indy

Second: Hayward resigns

Worst: walks for nothing

Can’t see him playing in New York. If Hayward wants Indy he’s essentially at the mercy of the Celtics. Danny can do whatever he wants. I think Danny has the upper edge over the Pacers unless the Pacers end discussion.

I wonder which team is geographically closest to Hayward's home in Indiana after the Pacers....without looking at a map...hehe..

My first thought was Cleveland, but I have to see which part of Ohio that is..and compare it to Chicago...
do those teams have cap space to make a run at Gordon...? (lol).
