With all the rumors going around:

PG- Kemba Walker
SG- Jru Holiday
SF- Jaylen Brown
PF- Jayson Tatum
C— Myles Turner

Bench:
PG- Marcus Smart
SG- Romeo Langford
SF- Grant Williams
PF- Rob Williams
C— Enes Katner
G— Carsen Edwards

Now there probably nothing will happen as we hear rumors every year but what if the trades do happen? Would u like this team?
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

I’d want to see us upgrade the bench.  I would be quite happy with the starters.

I don't understand salary wise how you are obtaining Holiday?? Even if Hayward is going out....what is the trade proposal

Also this lineup does not move the needle. It is lateral if anything.

Pass

In all honesty?

Great regular season team....not the playoffs though.
Six man rotation does not cut it.

Unless two of those rookies make the jump, roster is two "NBA players who get playoff minutes" short of being a threat in the ECF.

The last two years of playoffs scream: size and bench depth...when Stevens goes "small ball" in playoff games it it an unmitigated disaster.

Kanter can't get playoff minutes because he's too limited.
It would be great if Robert made the jump...that would put the Celtics into contention. The problem is all I see is Stevens taking him off the court.

I like last year's team better.

Steve Bullpett was right. We had the talent to go all the way, just lacked the discipline, ball movement, trust.  That's why the Heat beat us.

I think it assumes a three-way trade between BOS-NOP-IND.

I concur that this is at best a lateral move and is probably a step back.

Other than a tiny bit of size at C, this starting lineup is smaller than our current lineup and, while I do like Jrue -- he's a very good player -- he's a significant downgrade in talent from Hayward.

Not gonna lie.  This would not be progress unless both Jays take yet another big step upward to make up for the loss of Hayward.

Steve Bullpett was right. We had the talent to go all the way, just lacked the discipline, ball movement, trust.  That's why the Heat beat us.

We also lacked Gordon Hayward, while MIA was totally healthy. We cruise through that series if tables were turned (Hayward healthy, Dragic injured). We also probably cruise with just a healthy Hayward.

Anyway, that team is pretty boss. I guess we are trading Theis for some reason(?). Having essentially our same team (again, injured Hayward), but adding Turner and Jrue would certainly raise our team’s ceiling)

I like the OP team posted a lot. But I liked this years team a bit more. It’s true that it’s a small sample size, but our offense was nice. With Hayward touching the hall within the offense we just got more good looks, good possessions sometimes earlier into the clock. As a sometimes 4th option his #’s are crazy good. His teammates like him. He deferred without complaint. He’s the perfect guy to me for Hayward and Brown to emulate. There’s so much to learn from him to really skyrocket their games. But if just may be out of our control. I see this as a really nice recovery by Danny but still a smidge if a step down.

OK.

Discipline, ball movement, trust.

Normally, that means four guys, in order of responsibility for 2019/20

Kemba
Tatum
Smart
Hayward

(Brown just didn't have that role. That will change going forward)

Kemba was slowed a bit, but I don't see how he can be expected to get quicker from here.

Tatum was 22, and we can expect things to change considerably. Still, there isn't much evidence that the team is pushing him to keep the ball moving.

Marcus was actually better than we have a right to expect, but when it really counted, his ugly side came out.

Hayward was hurt. Some guys can adjust, and contribute at 80%. Apparently he cannot.

So what do we do with that information? I don't see reasons to expect that Kemba or Smart will change. Hayward probably will if he's healthy.

So...

I am not high on Turner.  I think he is lazy.  I like Jrue, but can see his skills eating away from Smart.  Depending on how you view Smart, that is good or bad. I still feel Hayward, when healthy, is the best all around basketball player on the team.  Tatum is the best scorer and his game is developing into all around elite.  Brown still relies on others to get his game going on offense. My hope is we can run it back with someone like Baynes and finally stay healthy. We were top 5 offense and defense last year.

I dunno why Theis is gone in your scenario.

I think that's a pretty good starting lineup.  For whatever reason I like the fit of Holiday with the other starters more than other people seem to.

The team was very good this past year without Hayward, so I think looking at this like the team we know and love is losing Hayward is kind of the wrong frame.  Hayward was not really available for most of last season, certainly nowhere near 100%.

What I like about adding Jrue is that it adds ballhandling, playmaking, and rim-attacking to a lineup that could use an infusion of those skills.  It also takes pressure of Kemba to run the offense when the opponent clamps down on him.

The bench however would still need some work.  Not a fan of bringing back Kanter.
You’ll have to excuse my lengthiness—the reason I dread writing letters is because I am so apt to get to slinging wisdom & forget to let up. Thus much precious time is lost.

I love Hayward, but how realistic is the concept of a “healthy Hayward”?

In Year One, he missed the entire season.  In Year Two, he was a shell of himself.  In Year Three he was the player we mostly envisioned, other than his unwillingness to drive the ball consistently.  However, he missed 20 games in the regular season and almost the entirety of the playoffs.  Reports are that he suffered nerve damage.

That’s not a track record I feel comfortable with.  If we can get value for him, we probably should.

We all know Hayward will never be the “Hayward of Utah”..I just got a feeling he wants to go to the Pacers cause he is from there and just bought a house there.. he could be the man on that team also where at Boston, he never will be..if he does have nerve damage, trade him..
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin
