With all the rumors going around:

PG- Kemba Walker
SG- Jru Holiday
SF- Jaylen Brown
PF- Jayson Tatum
C— Myles Turner

Bench:
PG- Marcus Smart
SG- Romeo Langford
SF- Grant Williams
PF- Rob Williams
C— Enes Katner
G— Carsen Edwards

Now there probably nothing will happen as we hear rumors every year but what if the trades do happen? Would u like this team?

PG- Jru Holiday
SG- Marcus Smart
SF- Jaylen Brown
PF- Jayson Tatum
C— Daniel Theis

Bench:
PG- Kemba Walker
SG- Romeo Langford
SF- Grant Williams
PF- Rob Williams
C— Myles Turner
G— Carsen Edwards

My slight modification... this fixes your bench and balances your offense.

I love Hayward, but how realistic is the concept of a “healthy Hayward”?

We've almost never seen it the whole time he's been here.

That's why I'm so mystified when I see people suggest that losing Hayward would be such a "big loss."

It's a loss to the theoretical ceiling, maybe.  It's not that big a change in what the team has been.  If we replace Hayward with somebody who can actually play at something like 100% and be aggressive all the time, that to me would be a huge upgrade.
You’ll have to excuse my lengthiness—the reason I dread writing letters is because I am so apt to get to slinging wisdom & forget to let up. Thus much precious time is lost.

While the Bucks and other teams make strong moves to contend, the Celtics lay low.
I'm fine with it. Just keep building patiently via the draft.

We do have to manage the financial situation. Either Hayward walks/re-signs and otherwise Hayward or Walker needs to be traded before the trade deadline.

The main goal for this season is to further develop Tatum, Brown, R.Williams, Langford, G.Williams and rookies.

Trade away Walker/Edwards/Ojeleye/Theis/Kanter if a decent offer comes in.

How about prioritizing winning after 7 years of rebuilding and having 3+ all stars on the team ?

Apparently we are only going to make minor tweaks to the roster.

IMO Hayward needs to be moved, but that punk wont allow team to do anything before the draft, can guarantee that right now.

I would love to see Hayward traded for TPE and a pick high enough to get Killian Hayes or Haliburton. Either of those will make Kemba expendable by as early as next season.

Then use the TPE on Wood. A bigger, faster, better theis.

I really was hoping to load up enough to also use mid MLE level contract on Gallo, but I bet he becomes the 6th man for the bucks now.
'21 Historical Draft
PG: Kyle Lowry / Mookie Blaylock / Mark Jackson
SG: Reggie Miller / Jeff Hornacek / Nick Anderson
SF: George Gervin / George McGinnis / Kyle Korver
PF: Connie Hawkins / Serge Ibaka / Josh Smith
C: Clint Capela / Bill Laimbeer / Jusuf Nurkic

No, how about winning with Tatum and Brown and Smart now.

This might be the worst take I have seen on here.  Break up ECF team to develop fringe bench players. The window is now.  Strength is slowly shifting to the East. And maybe not that slowly.

If Walker's traded we'll be hard pressed to ever sign a good free agent for another NBA Generation (6-7 years or so), especially after the IT fiasco... (my French is terrible, but) je dis ça, je dis rien (?)

He's just finished the first year of his deal, he's finally playing on a good team for the first time in his career, and we made the ECF. And we ship him out to effectively kick the tin down the alley for a few more seasons? That doesn't sit well with players or agents (or some fans).

Do you really think Hayward and his agent havent talked with Ainge?  He hasn't told you so I guess that makes him a punk.  He has to make a decision today by 5pm.  The draft is tomorrow night.  Hmm, that might be a decision before the draft.

Way to much panic.

The best thing that can still happen is Hayward opting out and resigning to a long term contract at a lower price (which signals the team is ok with the Tax)

Then Kanter opts in and the Celtics can combine him, a late draft pick and some salary filler to get a useful vet (George Hill would be great).

Then use the other two draft picks to move up and draft their target.

Use the tax level MLE to add one more vet.

Thank you for some common sense.

Not losing Hayward for nothing is a very important thing. But Having Hayward himself is not in the best interest of the team, imo.

Smart/Brown/Tatum have the sg-pf spots on lock down. Team needs a huge improvement in depth and could really stand to have a sizeable difference at Center.

Draft can address some of the bench, maybe
a tax payer MLE will help a little
Trading Kanter might help a little.

But none of those will put the team into contention.

Hayward needs to opt in, or be signed and traded for some talent that better fits our needs and age.

Should be a fun 48 hours. The only option rumored out there still for Hayward s&t is Indiana. I think there is real pressure on Ainge with the Hayward stuff.  I am not sold on Turner.  But Celtics need to get a serious rotation wing.  Brown hasn't always stayed healthy and the way Smart plays is accident waiting to happen.  Add Kembas knee.  Turner isnt enough and we lose a lot with Hayward.

It was originally listed as being the 19th at 5pm, I see it changed last night.

Good. Good.

And I wouldn't doubt in the least that he has not talked to Danny about it at all.

Except the team plays better when a healthy Hayward is in.   And unless there is a big man who is on Haywards level, (which there isn't available) trading him moves the team backwards.

Trading Hayward for a big slightly better then Theis (but so much more expensive) moves the team further away.

What moves the team to the NBA Finals is Tatum taking another step and being more constant with his all-nba level play.

The Celtics need to fill in the bench gaps.
