To me Moses was the clear #1 pick just based on the dearth of great centers available.  I mean he is the only top 10 all time center in this, which just isn't true at any other position.
I would have taken Moses if I wanted to create a center centric team that pounds it inside. I decided I want to build a different type team so went with The Freak

But is the gap between him and the second rung of centres in this draft that great? Sure the centre position is a bit thinner than other positions, but it's not like there aren't any centres who were top 10-15 players during their time available in this draft, and there's another historical giant who might be close to his level (emphasis on might) if you think highly enough of his game.

I had him going earlier honestly.

2nd best SG of all time, 2 way player. Really cannot argue just how awesome peak Kobe was.

SG: Reggie Miller / Jeff Hornacek / Nick Anderson
SF: George Gervin / George McGinnis / Kyle Korver
PF: Connie Hawkins / Serge Ibaka / Josh Smith

Gonna say, this is a tough choice. There were multiple options that I would have been happy with, but getting this guy is a great pleasure. His accolades speak for themselves: 3x MVP, 4x All-NBA First Team, Finals MVP in one of the best finals performance ever, ect. This man was an absolute monster on the boards, grabbing the most career offensive boards in NBA history. He leads the runner up by nearly 2,500 offensive boards. He's 9th on the all time scoring list, so he was no slouch there either. Earning the title "Chairman of the Boards", the dude was just a bonafide class act, beloved around the league and willing to take a back seat to other stars when needed. I think someone to part the seas and lead me to the promised land, and that guy is...

Moses Malone!!!
Didn't want to go with the other guy, huh? This is a better selection than that guy.
Yeah, I was a bit uncertain, but I think I made the right choice. Like Moranis said, the lack of elite center talent sealed the deal for me.
2023 No Top 75 Fantasy Draft Los Angeles Clippers
PG: Dennis Johnson / Jo Jo White / Stephon Marbury

SF: Chris Mullin / Ron Artest
PF: Detlef Schrempf / Tom Chambers / Buck Williams
C: Ben Wallace / Andrew Bynum

The guy I was avoiding, who I will say again, is probably the best player in this format, but also, maybe, one of the more difficult top  guys to build a team around. Plus there is that Laker stigma.

But gouki knows how to build a good team, so interested to see what he does with Kobe

Likewise. His offence at his peak is on another level compared to the other greats available in this draft save one offensive dynamo - his body of work in the mid-late 2000s was very impressive once you get past the offensive GOAT candidates in NBA history.

Yes the gap is that great.  You've pretty consistently underrated how good Moses is.  Moses was an absolute monster.  The best player in the world for several seasons and probably the only guy available in this entire draft that can make that claim for more than 1 year (and that is only if you think Giannis is currently the best player in the world).  Impossible to guard and a top of the line rebounder on top of that.  And a good enough defender that you will be fine with him on both ends.

I'm still contemplating between two players or a potential trade.

Yeah, I’ve never had him on any kind of team before, so I’m looking forward to it. Might get crazy with my team, who knows ;)

I had Giannis 2 on my list.  Only player that was both a MVP and DPOY and he did it in the same season.

BTW, I give a TP to every pick after it is made. Just a tradition of mine. So TPs everyone.
