We need someone who we can bounce Ideas off of, imo.

An impartial party member who we can toss pick ideas off off.
You'll generally find a few non-participants who like to talk about the draft. Their involvement is one of the cooler things about drafts here

Cool, this is neat.

Can create a sort of war room that way. lol. In case I am way out of left field with draft choices, it might be nice for someone to tell me I am a lunatic prior to drafting like one.

Nobody knows your draft targets until you actually announce your picks. You 'll get feedback after announcing the picks, not before.

I guess you can ask the commissioners about their opinion prior to making your selections, but they are running their own teams as well. If I were you, I wouldn't want other players to know whom I'm planning to select.

Alright, the draft will commence at 10AM ET, November 30th. We'll do 5 rounds during the week, have the weekend off so people can relax, make trades if they want, and get ready for the 7 rounds we'll do in the following week.

You'll have 15 minutes to make a selection unless you PM a draft board to someone else. Just make sure it has as many selections as picks in front of you!

Let me know if this is a serious issue for anyone
10AM?!!! This is fantastic news!

Tbh I can create a Discord server if anyone wants a more interactive experience in discussing players (you can use the voice channels to talk with others and the layout of the application allows for rapid-fire messaging).

Just floating out a suggestion, it wouldn't take away the debate when we're done with our picks anyways - it would be used for the more granular aspects of player evaluation imo during the drafting process (eg. how does player A play? how does his strengths/weaknesses translate to impact or lack thereof? how do you come up with your conclusions in the tape?).

Sounds good to me. It'll be interesting how the first round plays out. I have my draft board, but I'm having a tough time actually ranking the top 5-ish.

I think top 5 picks are alot harder to determine in this draft.

I have the top pick and feel like there is an argument for 7-8 guys to go #1. I don't think there is much separation at all there.

I think there are really only 4 people you could argue, but I know without question who I would take and don't think it is all that difficult a decision.

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield

I have a plan, wonder how many picks it will take for it to be shot all to heck.

I'd say five players would have reasonable arguments on going first IMO.

Hm I think there are 4 players who clearly separate themselves among the 8 players with typical MVP-ish peaks. Two of them are two-way forces, one is an offensive GOAT candidate and another is an offensive ATG with solid defence. The second tier is interesting as well - two players are top 25-30 offensive players of all time with solid/good defence, one is a classic floor raiser with legendary pedigree and the final guy is an interesting offensive centrepiece with intensely physical defence.
