Doc is the only coach in NBA history to blow 3 playoffs series when up 3-1.

Brad has gotten a team of underdogs to 3 out of the last 4 Eastern Conference Finals. Doc, with more talent, got booted in the second round while we made it to the third.

Brad made some infuriating decisions in the Miami, and even Toronto, series. But come on, what are people smoking?
Yeah, I'm not really on the Brad Stevens bandwagon.

But to fire him and bring in Doc is seven different shades of crazy.

Did you not watch what happened to the Clippers this year? If our defeat was a meltdown, their defeat was Chernobyl.

PG-13 is a loser, a subpar number three in a Big Three pretending to be a good sidekick. He has never won anything and he never will. Meanwhile, Kawhi realizes everyday that he should have stayed in Toronto because if he had he’d be poised to be sweeping the Lakers next week.
Oh, so when Doc consistently underachieves, it's 100% the players' fault, but with Brad the losses is completely his fault? I swear this site is just bad take central right now.

Under Doc, we never had crap like that locker room fiasco after going down 2-0. Stevens lost the players. Brown had problems with Irving and now may have problems with Smart, so package Brown for Giannis, bring back Doc and we’re going back to being one championship ahead of the Lakers next year instead of being tied with them.

Brown was our second best player in the bubble and post season. I appreciate Smart's fire and tenacity. He is probably my favorite player on the roster because of his passion and effort, but his offense typically comes at the expense of other better offensive players, like Brown.  Smart need to pass more and shoot less.  I would rather Trade Smart than Brown 10 times out of 10.  Elite 1 way players are replaceable elite 2 way players are not.

If Indiana was interested I think Smart (with salary filler) for Turner is a pretty fair trade and I think DA would have to think long and hard before saying no to that sort of offer.

i've heard Jeff Van Gundy's name come up for the Clippers job.  Why has it been so long since he has coached?

All I know is we have not won anything since Doc left. This rebuild is over seven years old now, too. Losing 3 of 4 ECFs is heart-breaking. Had KG not gotten injured in 2009 and had Perk not gotten injured in 2010, we would have three-peated with Doc. Heck, had Danny not dealt Perk in 2011 perhaps we’re the ones upsetting LeBron that year and winning the championship instead of Dallas?

Since the 1980s we’ve only ever won anything with Doc as our coach. Let’s try it again.

Doc hasn't won anything since he left either

Yikes!

CBS was outcoached by Spo but I don’t see why we’d want to replace him with doc

That said, I think personnel changes should happen tho. I think we’re playing less than the sum of our parts

I'm all set with Stevens.  Wish Doc well but not interested in having him back.

I'm not ready to move on from Brad but I think there is an argument to be made there. That argument does not involved bringing in Doc Rivers though.
If we were to replace Brad, I'd go with someone an unknown who's new and exciting, like what the Raptors did with Nick Nurse. I hate when team bring in constant retreads.
Yeah, like Kerr too. No prior coaching experience and now he has 3 rings
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

How about Doc takes the next season off and the deal for Stevens is “championship or back to college ball” followed by bringing back Doc and Thibs (no Knicks coach lasts)? We’re about to watch the Lakers tie us for total  championships, so clearly we cannot keep losing the ECFs. This is truly unacceptable. One more chance to win it all or he goes to be Coach K’s assistant and heir apparent at Duke, totally saving face, and we go back to Doc with Ainge himself and Doc on the hot seat for 2021-2022?

Seriously, folks...we are not going to have the most championships of all-time in a matter of days and we better get our act together to not fall to number two, a once unthinkable event...

Looks like Doc is preparing to take over the Sixers:

We're going to be seeing a whole lot of him soon enough.

Have you watched basketball the past 8 years or so? Because Doc and Thibs haven't been good coaches for a long time. No way are they the solution to our problems.

Well, hopefully we don’t falter in the second-round to Doc and the 6ers because Jaylen does his best impression of Kyrie in the locker-room and Stevens doesn’t have that final ingredient to seal the deal.  How humiliating would it be to lose to the 76ers with Doc?
