Brad had a complete meltdown this series. Spoelstra simply owned him. Yes, we’ve been to three of the past four ECF and we lost all three. Now that the rebuild is over, perhaps it is time for Brad to go back to college ball and Doc to come back to coaching the Celtics?

Subtract Stevens, maybe Hayward goes away (Hayward for Horford? Yes, please!)

Add Doc, make one move (regardless of what happens to GH) and we are the 2020-2021 NBA Champions: Trade Jaylen Brown and five first-round picks for Giannis. Make it six if necessary (think of how many crap first-round picks we’ve made the last ten years, and three of these picks would be 2020 with an already-packed roster). Nobody can beat that package. Nobody.

Get KG on Doc’s coaching staff to mentor Giannis and who knows what kind of amazing things we can create the next ten years with a big three of Giannis (the perfect number one), Tatum (the perfect number two), and Smart (the perfect number three)?

I remember when "Fire Doc" threads were all the rage...HaHaHa

"Out coching Doc Rivers, even a caveman could do it!" Who's tag was that?

Now people wanna hire him...such fickle hearts...

Did you not watch what happened to the Clippers this year? If our defeat was a meltdown, their defeat was Chernobyl.

PG-13 is a loser, a subpar number three in a Big Three pretending to be a good sidekick. He has never won anything and he never will. Meanwhile, Kawhi realizes everyday that he should have stayed in Toronto because if he had he’d be poised to be sweeping the Lakers next week.

Oh, so when Doc consistently underachieves, it's 100% the players' fault, but with Brad the losses is completely his fault? I swear this site is just bad take central right now.

I'm not ready to move on from Brad but I think there is an argument to be made there. That argument does not involved bringing in Doc Rivers though.

Doc is the most overrated coach in the NBA
Can only win with stacked teams, and hardly.

He had a losing record with Orlando and Boston before the big 3 era and completely under achieved with a stacked clippers team.

Why would you want him?

We should stick with Stevens unless Ainge can somehow convince Phil to come out of retirement or have Pop quit on the Spurs.

If we were to replace Brad, I'd go with someone an unknown who's new and exciting, like what the Raptors did with Nick Nurse. I hate when team bring in constant retreads.

All I know is we have not won anything since Doc left. This rebuild is over seven years old now, too. Losing 3 of 4 ECFs is heart-breaking. Had KG not gotten injured in 2009 and had Perk not gotten injured in 2010, we would have three-peated with Doc. Heck, had Danny not dealt Perk in 2011 perhaps we’re the ones upsetting LeBron that year and winning the championship instead of Dallas?

Since the 1980s we’ve only ever won anything with Doc as our coach. Let’s try it again.

Hard pass on Doc.

Unless, he's bringing Thibs back, too.

He was the real mastermind behind the Celtics title team. Doc was just the figurehead.

Doc is definitely a superior coach than Brad, so bringing him back would absolutely be an upgrade there.

Unfortunately, I suspect Brad is going to be given more undeserved opportunities to fail us, so I'm not holding my breath waiting for it.

Under Doc, we never had crap like that locker room fiasco after going down 2-0. Stevens lost the players. Brown had problems with Irving and now may have problems with Smart, so package Brown for Giannis, bring back Doc and we’re going back to being one championship ahead of the Lakers next year instead of being tied with them.

Also keep in mind that Doc would probably bring his son along with him, too.

Last thing we need is a headcase, shoot-first guy that can't really shoot.

Oh boy. We've gone full on revisionist history. We had plenty of lockerroom issues during the Doc era. Rondo breaking a TV during a film session. KG making Glen Davis cry. Countless "team only" meetings. Oh, and he bailed on this franchise in 2013 because he didn't want to rebuild. Doc is a fine coach, but I don't want him here at all. We shouldn't be willing to hand over the fruits of our rebuild for a guy that didn't want any part of the labor.

Doc is the only coach in NBA history to blow 3 playoffs series when up 3-1.

Brad has gotten a team of underdogs to 3 out of the last 4 Eastern Conference Finals. Doc, with more talent, got booted in the second round while we made it to the third.

Brad made some infuriating decisions in the Miami, and even Toronto, series. But come on, what are people smoking?
