we will see with Gordon Hayward back in game 3 if that makes a difference in this series. Hayward is great at getting us into plays and great at attacking the zone and calming down the team. Thats why I never got the "oh we dont need gordon!" crowd.

NOW, in a normal playoff series I would say the celtics are done. HOWEVER in the bubble on neutral court anything is possible. But alot will be on how gordon looks

This year? No, I don't. We can't close games and make the biggest stops.

Next year or the year after, when our two stars have a few more years under their belts? Absolutely.

I mentioned this in another thread. If we take a step back, our two stars are 22 and 23 years old. Also this is Kembas first deep playoff run. Its disappointing to see them wilt. But this is a learning experience and we will be back. ALso, if we cannot beat the miami heat with really no "superstars" then we are NOT going to beat the lakers with Lebron/AD. and a loss in the finals to the lakers would be much more devastating to me.

BUT, if Hayward is who he was early in the bubble anything can happen. These playoffs are not normal with the neutral court and all the upsets.

Absolutely.

The margin of error is getting razor thin but both of these of losses have been self-inflicted.  I still think they're the better team.  They just need to correct these errors.  If they can get Hayward back, that's huge.  His skill set is certainly needed right now.

Players & Brad need to do a better job but coming back from 0-2 certainly isn't outside the realm of possibility and I'm not yet ready to jump on the overreaction, give up train.

I believe in the team but also realize the situation is very fragile.  Just look at game 3 against Toronto as an example.  One miracle play gave the Raptors life.

The Celtics can right the ship with 48 minutes of laser focused basketball.  Despite the awful late game performances, we're not far off from winning these games.  Hopefully they can grab game 3 and a Hayward return puts things over the top.

I've also come to accept that this Heat team is incredibly versatile and resilient.  I'm finding myself to be less frustrated than usual.  Part of this might be because 2020 has been so crazy.  I also think it's harder to get mad when you respect the opponent.

I'm not sure where I stand.  This team has to show incredible resiliency to come back from the hole that they dug themselves.  The turnovers last night were inexplicable and inexcusable.  Stevens' lack of in game adjustments is pushing me over the edge.

That being said, typically talent wins in the NBA, but this is a strange year.  Based on talent, both Miami and Denver would not be in their respective conference finals.

We are still not firing on all cylinders, even when we have a 17 point lead.  Jaylen goes missing for the 2nd and 3rd quarters, Kemba is wildly inconsistent and Smart will take ill-advised shots in the normal course of business.  Our centers are all getting abused, and it feels like all of this is true, even when we are ahead.

I guess I just talked myself out of believing, but there is a small sliver of hope that Hayward can tip the scale in our direction.

I don't know, you shouldn't 'expect' multiple miracle 3s from your opponent at the end of each close game. I respect the Heat, but one miss in each of these last two games and the Cs are 2-0. I know they've been doing it all playoffs, but it just isn't normal.

But it really shouldn't have come down to this. You mention that the situation is fragile, but unfortunately so are the Cs. The awful reset on the 24 second clock led to a 4 point play, a no-call on Theis' lay-up (when he got smacked in the face), and then another 3 point play. Instead of shooting FTs to go up 12, it was suddenly a 3 point game in less than 30 seconds. Rather than fight back and build up their lead, they continued to wilt and somehow fell behind by 8 just a few minutes later. It was the same reaction as when they lost game 3 to the Raptors at the buzzer. They just couldn't get over the miracle play and lost game 4, as well (despite having a half-time lead).

Somehow MIA doesn't have this problem. It's not like they aren't young, they count on 3 rookies (Duncan is 2nd year, but he was D-league last year) and Bam is only in his 3rd year. The bubble being in FL may actually be a real benefit to them - they are used to the scenery, the setting, the weather. And their home crowd sucks anyway. They would have been the away team in all 3 match-ups so far, but they have benefited from a neutral court this whole time. I imagine the miracles will end if/when they face Lebron and the Lakers (of course), but they literally play like they are just in a pick-up game each game. The pressure doesn't get to them at all.

Fun fact. In the last two years, the team that went down 2-0 in the ECF went on to win the series. There's still some hope  ;D

I'm convinced we will win game three, I definitely think our intensity and focus will be turned up in this game, especially early. I think that GH will play limited minutes and help smooth out some of our offensive issues (he basically HAS to play game 3 even if only for 15 or so minute). I think the main issue will be be maintaining focus late in the game and cutting down on turnovers, which is really what did us in last game imo. A win in game 3 would apply some pressure on Miami which is seemingly all on us right now, and which they haven't really experienced this playoff.

Long story short, yes I believe.

Funny what a great night's sleep can do for you.

New day. New beginnings. And a brand new series starting tomorrow   ;)

Yo - long time no speak

Ive been watching a video like this here and just malding over every wrong play made lol

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0z6JEu9TxwU

Very first one is this random ass Theis pass to the hands of a player in his face:

https://imgur.com/a/bqWV000

If you are a bit patient - everything can be solved but our offense is stagnat as fk and just rotate - never.

Now a super thing that Heat have going for them which before I mention that - I want to give credit to the god level executive/coach/mentor

Pat Riley

This guy has groomed a coach for years to come - keeps on bringing the right pieces to build the culture of basketball he wants to see - what more to say...

Anyway - do you know why we looked better with Thomas vs Kemba so far here in the playoff grind when needing to score and why mr Dragic is smurfing on us and everyone?

Left Handed beauties - its one of the many factors besides us not knowing how to play against a zone (as the video shows above in abysmall ways that you want to pull your hair out for each decision they make)

Check our games and see how many times we have conceded from the left lol - hes the number 1 scorer in this series for a reason - he can abuse us by his natural ways lol and thats what Thomas did too and we can name a ton of lefties who just didnt fail.

Freely creating offense for his team...that will give them points no doubt.

What we have to do? Learn to break the zone with patience and use their brains - why the hell is Kemba going to his right and Smart is 2 metres in the corner right side just standing there in a 2-3 zone....... ETC.

Unless they use their brains - they wont be able to maintain the leads they build - Miami is a good team - all due respect etc - though dominant teams play 48 mins of dominant basketball and not just come back from behind which is why the door is still open for us...good luck to us lol.

PS. Please Hayward - come back...you know how to play against zone....
