OK Roy, point taken.

But Miami played more zone than anyone else this season. Surely the Celts prepared for this in practice. Make adjustments during 3d quarter timeouts. And yes, what is with Stevens reticence to us Rob Williams ? Miami's Bamba-whatever has a 3d quarter dunkfest and Williams is our best post defender. If Grant had Rob's size and athleticism, we would have our starting center for the next 10 years, but he doesn't. I love Grant and he definitely has a role to play on a championship level team, but we needed some defensive size last game.

Blowing these leads has me on the ledge and to make it twice as bad, the Lakers could finally catch up with our titles @ 17.
That would send me over the ledge to, hopefully, a less painful existence than that of being a fan of Celtics basketball and Vols football.

Brad wasnít the one turning the ball over and getting beat for offensive rebounds.  Execution is on the players.

True, but don't you find it just very frustrating that we always do that in the third quarter? At some point that has to go on him. I've defended him for so long, and blamed the players for not executing, but we gotta draw the line here, right?

Heís coaching without a bench.  I tend to cut him a lot of slack when Wanamaker is his best bench player.

He has a team missing a key starter in the Conference Finals.  Thatís despite Kembaís struggles, and Theisí level of play dropping off.

I don't know if I can go there, Roy. It seems that the lack of bench play is not noticed during the first halves. I would agree if we are deficient all game long, but in the first half we don't seem to feel the lack of bench play and Gordon Hayward with this team.

So this is has to be an effort and mentality problem in the second half. It seems that when the other team goes on a run, we just capitulate.

bench points even tonight 16 miami - 16 boston
don't think it was the horrible bench that lost the game for us tonight.  Kanter and Wannamaker had some key plays.
They did enough.

edit - I guess it should be noted that Miami's bench played more minutes.  So I guess you could argue that Miami's starters were more rested for the stretch run in the 4th?  i dunno that is even stretching it.

It's the lack of strategic adjustments during halftime that killed us in the 3d quarter. That's on Stevens.

At halftime, just about everything was working.  Is that the time to change things?

It was the third quarter when the team played extremely sloppy basketball.  We had something like seven or eight turnovers in the quarter.  That's on the players.  The only real criticism I have is not giving Robert Williams a chance, but I think Brad wants to be able to space the floor a bit, thus using Grant Williams.  He tried Kanter in the second half, and that was a disaster after working well in the first.
His trust in Rob Williams seems iffy, for some reason. Not sure why, his effort off the bench and he changes our looks a lot. He has a FG% of 77% for the playoffs!!

I would play him and Grant more, and Theis less

Or maybe the plan was to shut everyone else down?

I'd rather Adebayo try and beat us with his scoring than with his creation for Dragic and Robinson

Is this really going to become the new, infamous "any Terry Rozier fans" thread?  :P

I take back my earlier pronouncement, re: firing him. The outcome of a very deep frustration.

Regarding Adebayo, he is Miami's only answer to Tatum in the paint. They employ a shorter player on Tatum on the outside and use Bam as help defender when JT attacks the paint.

Noticed Hayward gasping on some plays. He played well. He could be our point forward.

Are there still Terry Turd fans?

And, yes, Brad should still be fired.  He's lucky he has so much talent at his disposal even if he is clueless on how to manage it.

If only we had a real coach like Doc Rivers.  His teams would never choke away big leads in playoff games. /sarcasm

Why is it because of talent when we win, but because of coaching when we lose?

Except Heat are winning because of coaching.

Besides, wasnít the CBS narrative generally ďhe gets so much out of so little?Ē I think this is the first year where we actually have more talent.

Because people need someone to point the finger at when we lose, and even sometimes when we win  ;D
