He hasnt been good with less than 5 min left in the playoffs

He needs to add another 10 pounds of muscle in the offseason(or two). Next time dunk on Bam face

I wish Celtics gave Brown some more runs in OT

I've seen enough of this end-of-quarter, end-of-game iso ball to think that it isn't particularly effective.  Sometimes shots go in, but they're almost always difficult.  Having a great player isn't an excuse for lazy offense.  Much rather see us run a play.

And I don't know why we just ignored Jaylen Brown for the majority of the second half.  He was open on several occasions - including at least twice at the rim - and we rarely even glanced at him.  I like our offensive talent, but we get so much more out of it when we play together and make the barest of efforts to make each other better.

Hopefully these are things that we take care of in the film room tomorrow.

Kemba is 5-36 !!!!! For 3 in the last 5 games.
Is he not built for this playoff pressure?

They are blitzing him and pressuring him and and its getting him out of the rhythm.

Hate to say it but that was an utter choke job.

Just some baffling play down the stretch on the offensive end. Especially the 4th quarter. This ISO, hero stuff by Kemba & Tatum cost them dearly.  What the hell were they doing out there?

We'll be FINE, people.

MIA is in the ECF for a reason.

Get Game 2, extend the series and buy time for The Haymaker.

We're going to need him back.

Terrible game by Brad Stevens.

End of game play calling and substitutions dreadful.

I just think he's tired. Most of his misses are frontrimmed. With kemba out of the rhythm he had to take a lot of load so he ran out of gas at the end.

Should have been a ten point win. Team needs to move on from this one and not get owned in the paint by an above average center and a small forward.
Theis ain't the answer. He never was. He's a 15-minute-a-game guy.

If the Celtics had an above-average center (like I dunno, say Bam) they'd jog to the finals.

Yet our coach continually allowed iso ball between him and Kemba down the stretch in the 4th and in OT, even as we failed to generate good looks at the basket.  Both players ended up having inefficient shooting nights.  Sometimes we'd dribble out the clock and heave a terrible shot at the end.

That's on the players.  But that's also on Brad because that's just straight up terrible coaching.

Brutal loss. But I still think we win this series
I mean, I love the optimism...but I dunno.

I question their ability to close. Three times in the last six games where they've absolutely thrown away a game.

We had the better of them for large parts of the game, we just went away from what had been successful and so we weren’t able to control the game when it mattered. The rest of it came down to individual plays like bams block and hero’s 3 and buckets and 1. I think we have a great shot at winning the series. Even without Hayward.
Any odd typos are because I suck at typing on an iPhone :D

Yeah definitely could've used more offensive diversity

I mean Jayson played a good game, I'm more putting this out there to point out that the c's offense went keep completely stalling out at the end of games because Tatum and Kemba start trading iso's. RUN AN ACTUAL OFFENSE.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
I like the Cs chances even after this loss. Miami had a fantastic end of game.

Did you see the Bucks series? Miami always has fantastic ends to their games. They spotted us a 12 point lead and we still couldn't close the deal. The Kemba and Tatum isos at the end of the 4th were so predictable.

Butler totally caught Tatum off-guard for the and-1 in overtime by going hard to the hoop with 12 seconds left. He thinks you are always supposed to dribble it until the last second and then chuck a bad shot. MIA took this game from the Cs and I'm afraid we might have used our one Smart 3-pt explosion in a loss.

I agree, it was an awful loss and they have had trouble closing games lately.

Having said that, I feel like Kemba finally seems like he found his game again towards the end. Hopefully he can follow that up in game 2.
