If we wanted trash, we can just look in the garbage for free instead of giving up Hayward.

Strange trade.  It makes no attempt to address either team's weakness.  It's just a swap of assets that don't fit particularly well with their destination team.

Never trade with the Lakers while we're both trying to contend.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
The trade and the trade partners seem pretty random. I guess they are trying to get LAL a 3rd star and maybe Hayward is expected to be that on LA(?). With our luck, we trade him there and he plays 82 games a year for the next 5 years and is a perennial all-star.

I don't particularly hate any of the players coming back, I just don't find them all that useful. If Gordy will re-sign for a reasonable amount (less than Jaylen money), that would be much preferred.

TP for the sentiment. If the Lakers were on fire, I wouldn't even urinate on them to put it out.

I'd throw gas on it, lol.

But as for the trade they'd clearly win.

GH is the better package.

No way I'd help those bums out - especially when we're likely to meet them soon provided we get past MIA.

It would be okay if Hayward didn't want to stay.

If we are flipping KCP and Kuzma to a third team, maybe.

I don't want to trade Hayward though.

Not sure they can get the right return to make a Hayward trade a good thing, but if decide to move him I sure hope they can get a better package than that.

All-star talent for 3 role-players and a second-rounder. Where do I sign?!

That's a bad trade offer.

From that group I like KCP most. Kuzma wouldn't fit in the Celtics culture.
And I'd try to find another team that still believes in Danny Green as well.

Somehow get the Suns to take Green + Kuzma + 2023 2nd for Oubre?

Caldwell-Pope + Oubre for Hayward wouldn't be terrible IF Hayward isn't willing to re-sign and picks up his player option. Although it would help the Lakers way too much.

The C's have more players under contract + picks than roster spots. No way we trade Hayward for 3 lesser players + a second rounder 3 years down the road. This is a joke of a proposal.

A couple of months ago, Bleacher Report posted a trade scenario around Embiid-Brown which wasn't even a valid trade salary-wise. At least this time they managed to come up with a valid proposal. It seems to me that these trade scenarios are just as credible as our own ideas here on CelticsStrong.
