Brad in his interview said "you can't go through the playoffs without some heartbreakers, without something bad happening...the key is to be able to respond and to feel good that you responded". Playoffs, like life, are about dealing with adversity and unfairness and coming out the other end. That's what builds character and this team is growing after every setback they face - the injury to Hayward, the last second loss of a game they should have won, and then the Raptors win in Game 4 to even the series. We've been able to respond each time and each time they do they get stronger.

I think these guys will win G6. It's a tall task, but they're tough and I honestly feel like Toronto have only outplayed the Celtics once this series.

Yeah, the Cs have been the better team. They just seemed so shell-shocked last game after the heartbreaking loss. So happy to see them playing like themselves again!

Complete 180 from Game 4. These guys came out with a lot of swag & confidence. Yeah of course you also need to hit shots which they struggled to do in Game 4, but this team is just night and day when they have confidence in their abilities and that includes being able to hit their shots.

Overall a very balanced effort all around and the defense tonight was just phenomenal.

Also, it seems like when the C's play great, they tend to blow out the Raptors or at least win by a decent margin. Meanwhile when the Raptors play fantastic the games are still close. Wasn't like they blew us out last game either despite us shooting 20% from behind the arc and being very sloppy

Lets end this on Wednesday!  ;D

Hayward available if we advance?!?

TNT announcer just said it. Was this revealed before the game?

Assuming he’s available, will he leave in 2 weeks again to go to his family?

Jaylen saying in his postgame when reporters kept asking him what he changed from game 4 to game 5: "I didn't change anything...I went to sleep at night and woke up in the morning. I got ready to play basketball...last game I had open looks, they didn't go in...tonight I had open looks they went in. I'm going to keep shooting, I have faith in myself, my coaches have faith in me, my teammates have faith in me, just have to keep executing at a high level".

The announcers said towards the end of the game GH is already in the bubble, supposedly.

If true this in itself is great news.

We will need him going forward provided we can get past TOR.

This is what I was saying in the other thread after Game 4...I think we're the better team. When we play at our best they can't beat us. They have to play well and we have to play bad for them to beat us. It becomes a mental fortitude thing where the team needs to be in the right mental state to execute without panic or hesitation and if they do, then I can't see Toronto beating us. Other teams yes, but I think we have Toronto's measure. And they'll know that too, in their heart of hearts. But they have a heart of a champion so they won't lie down. They'll come out hard and desperate on Wednesday and we have to be prepared.

Brad was just interviewed, when Abby asked him he said Gordon was in the bubble, he hasn't seen him yet as he is in quarantine, doesn't know when he gets out of quarantine, I guess it depends on the doctors passing him or something, and doesn't know when he will be available.

Would anyone else take Anunoby over Siakim 10/10 times? I don't know why I feel that way. When he plays, he always looks in control. He's so athletic. He's always in the right position defensively and is annoyingly effective in a relatively small role right now.

That's hard to say as Siakim is the focus of the defense and Anunoby is benefiting from all the attention Siakim, Lowery and FVF are getting.

It's really a make miss league...here's the FG% and 3FG% over the series so far.

Code: [Select]
Boston Toronto
Game Score FG FG% 3FG 3FG% FG FG% 3FG 3FG%
Game 1 BOS 112 TOR 94 39-83 47% 17-39 44% 31-84 37% 10-40 25%
Game 2 BOS 102 TOR 99 32-76 42% 15-38 40% 36-90 40% 11-40 28%
Game 3 TOR 104 BOS 103 39-83 47% 9-29 31% 41-88 47% 13-40 33%
Game 4 TOR 100 BOS 93 33-75 44% 7-35 20% 34-86 40% 17-44 39%
Game 5 BOS 111 TOR 89 38-77 49% 11-34 32% 33-85 39% 12-40 30%

The stats I'm really interested in are locked away behind the Second Spectrum website, I'd like to know how many open looks we created per game as well as how many Toronto got. They eventually come out in the NBA.com site but after a few days. That's a sign of how well our offensive and defensive schemes are working. Sometimes you make shots, sometimes you miss them but if you keep creating open looks it means that we're doing the right things on the court.

As long as we don't have a horrible shooting night in Game 6 and keep defending and making it hard for them to shoot their perimeter shots and keep Siakam and Ibaka from working inside I think we should win.

Not going to lie, I needed that. And I think we all did. Depressing stretch between the end of Game 3 all the way to this evening, but they showed what they are capable of and they are 1 win away from the ECF. So refreshing to see them tonight and it's nice they won in a blowout.
