Anyone else happy we lost in a close game like this?

I’d rather lose like this than in a blowout. Sure it hurts but our team hasn’t gotten blown out In the playoffs yet which means we are tough as nails

Getting blown out is not fun, but this game was a case of "snatching defeat from the jaws of victory," which to me is more painful. The win was there. All they had to do was play decent defense on one play and they couldn't do it.

i guess the most painful part of this isn’t the Closeness of the game but the fact that it was game 3. We could have sealed the series in 0.5 seconds but we didn’t. This truly is a very painful game in retrospect lol

I rather we have lost by 8 or 15 or 30. At least you know the towel has been thrown, know that the team just got rolled over, and they/you can mentally prepare for the next game.

Lose 0.5 by a 3-pointer IN THE PLAYOFFS? Forget it lol. And technically the Celtics lost "at home" today, how miserable it would have been at the Garden.

It just has to be the case of, on to the next one. It’s a tough pill to swallow surely, but it doesn’t change the fact that the C’s are playing fantastic basketball, on both ends, the Raps are just complaining and are in a desperate place of trying to figure out how to play us.

With Kemba, Tatum and Brown playing at this level, there is no way we don’t win 2 of 4

Noticed that we spent the entire time out talking to tacko telling him how to block the inbounds pass

Yeah, unnecessary gimmick.

Shoulda just gone with Theis/Jays/Smart/Semi

Why is anyone really blaming Brown on the last play? That was mostly on Tatum. Anunoby was his man. Not only did he not follow his man, when he released him to Brown or whoever he did not switch to Vanvleet, so Lowry could have easily passed to Vanvleet for an open three. Looks like Tatum had two players open for threes. Watch the tape, all the other players were engaged and Tatum was on an island.

I've moved on. We didn't play that well but still nearly won because of a miracle play from Kemba. Turns out Toronto had their own miracle play to counter ours. It hurts because it was so close but we only have ourselves to blame. That's probably what's more annoying than the fact that victory was snatched away at the death, the fact that it was because we messed up that last defensive possession. But they're a good team, they were going to put up a fight, they didn't want to be swept. But it's in the past now, we're on to...Florida!

Yeah Theis ran out to cover VanVleet, which means Tatum should’ve rolled to the paint to guard the paint (Gasol), which would’ve allowed Brown to shoot over to Anunoby.

Tatum was standing there guarding absolutely nobody.

It sucks but let’s not overreact. Toronto played very well in the second half and we did not. Even so, it required a complete defensive lapse, a perfect pass, and a flick-of-the-wrist 3PTer to squeak by us.

On to Saturday.

Just watched the game replay in my european morning... What a hard one to take...

BUT ! I think this give the Celtics a chance to grow stronger mentally. They showed during these 3 first games that they were the better team.

If they can overcome this miraculous shot, be dominant and win this series 4-1 or 4-2, man, this will be huge.

Bigger than a sweep on cruise control if you ask me.

Can’t really blame anybody, great draw up play, and tatum/brown/theis got mixed up, if brown rotated 0.2 seconds faster - GAME OVER

I feel bad for Jaylen, he had a masterpiece of a game

im still in shock with this... but in my eyes there's a big miss communication between them all... but in my eyes in this picture im confortable with theis position, he is between gasol and the pass, even with lowry making the pass to gasol theis can intercept or contest it later, the arc for that pass must be huge and give a ton of time to theis contest, meanwhie brown should be halfway between gasol and OG  so he can contest either one or even intercept...
Now the 4th game will be a must win for the celtics

I hope they don't all start pointing fingers at each other on whose fault it was that Anunoby was open. It's fine for fans to do it, and for reporters to ask the question, and in private I'm sure they will hold each other accountable for mistakes but but as a team you rise and fall together. It was a mistake, learn from it, move on.

Gasol was the difference maker, imo.
Hopefully he cant continue to score double digits.

Let’s not kid ourselves - Celtics have not played their best ball yet in this series. They’ve been downright sloppy at times. Hopefully this shakes them up a bit and forces them to execute properly, take care of the ball, and communicate. We’re 2-1 and our best is yet to come. Tough loss but we weren’t gonna go 16-0 en route to a title.
