No surprise here.  He's always been injury prone.  Celtics knew that was part of the deal when he was drafted.

Just be happy this wasn’t one of the starters.

I hate when people slap that label on such a young player, but then also assume that those who may know better have reached the same conclusion.

I would shut him down. He's not going to make or break our playoff chances and we're better off getting him right for next season.

I like Javonte better offensively, but Romeo would always have been a defensive sub and that's where he has the edge on Javonte IMO. That said, if we have to rely on either to advance in the playoffs we've got some problems

Brad said that practiced today and was feeling better, so he may in fact play vs Sixers, which would be great. Maybe the surgery fear was an overreaction.

"always?" this is his rookie season and he is only 20 years old.  :P

Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Does always include the future or just the past?

If it’s just the past then...it’s pretty accurate. His one year in the NBA and one year in college are checkered with injuries.
Hopefully, he can shake the injury bug and label to become a reliably productive player.

This was my reaction also.  It is fair to say that he has not yet proven he is durable enough for the NBA but I don't think you can extrapolate this much farther than that.  He has played what, 30 college games and an off and on rookie season?

Too soon to jump to the conclusion that durability will curtail his career.

You know Bradley Beal had an early rep that he was injury prone.  His first 4 years, starting at age 19, he never played a full season.  At age 23 during his 5th season he played 77 games and the next two years 82 games, leading the league in games and minutes.  So, lets give Langford a break and a few years before we label him as injury prone.  I like his size and potential.

Hand injuries aren't usually what cause NBA players' careers to fall short. I think we should all lay off the 'injury prone' label at least until he proves to have weak ankles or bad knees, or something. Glad he is already feeling better and am hoping a full offseason will make him a regular in the rotation next season.
