Lotta upsets going on in these playoffs minus the Raptors and Celtics. Mavericks stunned the Clipeprs to knot it up 1-1.

The Mavs could have won on Monday as well if it weren't for Porzingis' ejection early in the 3rd quarter.

I am not sure if this deserves a thread of its own or not but I am putting it here.

The Bubble presents interesting logistics that may affect teams differently.

1. It favors young teams that could have faltered uunder the increased crowd intensity of the playoffs.

2. It favors teams that do not play well in front of hostile away crowd.

3. It neutralizes the superstars because the NBA does not have any interest in prolonging series. The referees will not be interested in prolonging series because there is no extra money to be made from game receipts. The primary goal of the NBA is to have sucessful Bubble and get the heck out of dodge.

Who do these realities benefit?

Hopefully a team like the Celtics

I have to say all these upsets have me liking bubble playoff basketball in some ways better than regular playoff basketball where the 1st round is a snoozer. Kinda like playoff hockey where anything can happen.

I wonder if the benefit of not having opposing crowds and refs playing to the "home team" evens the series somewhat.

Also, It would be beautiful to see portland unseat the lakers....as well as Dallas to take out the clippers after kawhis whole "game management" season which gave them a lower seed.

Maybe I've been living under a rock the past few years. But is it true that Paul George was given the nickname, "Playoff P"?? LOL omg that just sounds cringe, and if we're being honest George hasn't really backed it up at least in recent years (after his Pacers career). Certainly didn't yesterday either

From what I know it usually comes in greentext lol (like >playoff PEE), iirc it was given to him sarcastically.

Scal made a good point last night about the teams down 2-0 not having that boost of returning home to get back in the series.

It's going to take a lot of gumption for those teams to not just pack it in at this point.
Yup

He also wondered what happens when teams go down 3-0 (or even 3-1) when they presumably won't win the series but do have some real incentive to end the series quickly so they can go home. How hard will they play?

I wonder if a team down 3-0 will just forfeit a game for health concerns.  Or if all the players opt out.
Yup

I don't think it will take getting to the elimination game for teams to basically fold it up.  The 76ers basically did that in 2nd half against us yesterday.
I don't mind if they do that for game 3 and 4.  Fine with me! :)

Hard to see Silver letting any of that happen. This season has been a fiasco for revenue. I'd bet he and his corporate friends are desperate for a LA vs LA conference finals for ratings sake. Giannis has been anointed too so he will get some major assistance.

Let's hope I'm wrong. Some honest basketball would be nice for a change, especially considering the current national state of misery.

But I don't expect a leopard to change its spots. Expect a huge effort from the refs tonight to help the Lakers and Bucks. I'm seeing Lillard in foul trouble early, and LeBron's hack and grab defense often. And Giannis will spend most of the day at the foul line. The Magic will be committing a lot of those fouls with their chins
