Whew, I dodged a bullet there.

Really happy that JO fell. He had a terrific 03-04 season, and was the best player of that 61 win Indiana Pacers team.

There's actually a debate among Oklahoma City that he might take the starting PF spot over LaMarcus Aldridge. Still not sure about that, but there are some rumblings.

I would start him.

Just want to mention that having the last pick in the 1st round isn't always a death knell in these type games. Dons is putting on a clinic as to how to grab value and put together an excellent team from that position in the draft.

I would be thinking of starting JO over Big Ben. Good to have 5 scoring threats when you are relying on balance & do not have an uber-talent like LeBron to carry you.

I'm not sure I'd do it but I'd definitely think on it.

I was thinking of picking Jermaine O'Neal, but the thing that put me off was his really inefficient style of play. He shot a bunch of bad mid range jumpers, which cause his FG% to be poor. I like him defensively though.

I think he is an example of a guy who would see his efficiency go up in the modern era, particularly playing with great teammates.  I also think that he would add a three point shot.

I liked the idea of JO next to Nash in a spread offense. Let Nash create some of his shots for him. Get JO away from that iso / post heavy shot selection. Up his efficiency.

I thought that would have worked well.

I was also looking at JO, but felt as if he was a bit too similar to Brand, and I just wanted to spice it up on my team

Great guy to give a different look on offence compared to AI. Perhaps the most different look. Love The Professor

I like the Rashard Lewis pickup. Good SF/PF. Gives you lineup versatility and a major outside shooting threat.

Yoki still going with his earlier mis-timed selection?
And rightly so. JO, like a few others, gets overlooked because of how dominant TD, KG and Dirk were

I always thought JO was just a tick below those guys, hence a great value here.

I think his Indy years would be best used as a PF rather than a C in this game though.  He was a strong PF then, but would be a weak C.  His strength at that position was one of his several positive attributes.
