Sheed!

Wondering when he was going to finally get picked.  Such a well rounded player.  Post game, three point shooting, passing, and defense.  Yeah, he had a temper, but he was so good.

Of course that temper was always point outwards, not towards the locker room.   His teammates loved him.

Agreed.

Honestly, I'd have taken him before a handful of the other bigs that had already been selected.

Breaks my heart as a Celtic fan to do this, but I'm reuniting Kobe with an old teammate (but obviously not picking the Laker version).

With 5(9) the Los Angeles Lakers select former Defensive Player of the Year Ron Artest/Metta World Peace

The Panda's Friend.

Love the dude.

Eddie is a nice old school pick.  All-Defense + 20 ppg in his best season.

Eddie is a great complement for the weaknesses of Harden, but that Houston team kinda baffles me. Just a weird group.

Some really elite talent though.

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
Jrue would have been available later IMO, but if you like him you like him!

I couldn't take the chance. He's such a versatile player, and with PG's who fit well with other teams are running out, I thought if I didn't get him in round 5, he will be gone.

I had to move up to get him. He offers so much value as a starter and as a third wing player. His defense is absolutely superb, and he's a very underrated scorer, shot creator and playmaker. He has everything that I want for a PG for this team.

Yeah, it's an overpay, but it's something I'm willing to pay for Jrue. He's a very good player and a great fit for us.

The guy I was strongly considering for my SG before I settled on Reggie.  Steals is one of the most impactful statistics on team success, so this guy helps there.

You only had to move up to get him if he wouldn't have been available at your next pick.  I thought he would be.  But if you know someone else would have grabbed him, like Roy, then you made the absolutely right choice!

I think there's so so much talent left on the board to fill out role positions, and a number of those players (Harden, Bosh, Amare) would be transcendent off the bench. Others have draft for fit over talent, but color me intrigued to see if these pieces can end up fitting together nicely. It'll take really prudent drafting in the next two rounds.
