Kudos to Iggy for sticking by his guns and getting what he wanted (traded from MEM, more money, and a more competitive team).  And kudos to Memphis for getting a better long term piece that should help them going forward.

Memphis earned a lot of goodwill with players league-wide for eventually trading Iggy somewhere he'd agree to, that both wanted him and was willing to pay him.  And this is why guys like Iggy do what they do.  Teams know if they don't oblige they run the risk of alienating other players.    I always support players using whatever leverage they have on management.

Seeing some of these trades go down really makes me hope Danny makes a move tomorrow. We have 3 mid-to-late 1sts and we don’t need all of them. Plus you can add someone like Poirier and someone else for salary matching and not miss a beat.

We’re seeing guys get traded for not much. Seems there could be more fleecing to come in the next 18 hours.

Please Danny. Get someone like Saric or Burks. Or someone similar. Or a depth big. Something.

At least Iggy didn't end up signing for the Lakers via the buyout market. :P

I respect players in the NFL who do this a whole lot more than guys in the NBA. I realize MEM basically told Iguodala that he did not have to report, but I imagine it was going to be a problem if they did. Frankly, I hate it when players act like babies and eventually get their way. He is way overpaid for what he brings, isn't even playing basketball, and then gets rewarded for it. Yuck. But at least MEM got a better, younger player in return. I am happy for them (hopefully it doesn't hurt our pick). I honestly don't know what MIA is thinking here.

Celtic nation should not be happy if Ainge hoards these picks again.

I think we all should calm down for a bit.

I’m considered one of those guys who “prospect hoards” in baseball or “hoards picks” in NBA/NFL matters.

But even I’ll admit, we don’t need 3 picks/players this summer and hell, some guys could be available for just a 2nd rounder. WCS went for a 2nd. I mean, does Danny really believe in guys like Poirier right now??

I’m also reminded of last year how literally every East contender made a trade and/or buyout signing and we didn’t.

I wouldn't mind if he kept kicking them down the road. There is always value in future picks, but a 2nd rounder or two will need to be included with that MIL pick in order to get back a future 1st.

If healthy, I think we are fine going into the playoffs. A bench scorer wouldn't be bad, but we have enough playoff depth and situational players as long as there are no injuries (as seen this may be unlikely).

Is it really possible that the Heat gave up Justise Winslow for Iquodada?

Wow, what a great deal for Memphis.

It does seem to be what has occurred.  Terrific deal for Memphis.

Is it just me, or was that Iggy deal really idiotic for the Heat? Not only do I not see much of a difference in immediate production, Winslow is still a young player with potential. Iggy might be close to retirement.

I am genuinely confused by what Atlanta is doing.
