Pat Riley is taking a big chance with this potential trade. I feel like Miami's biggest strength is their chemistry, so why change it?
Because they're not quite as good as their record. They're a good team but they are a clear 4th in the conference when it comes to overall level of play. They profile more as a 52 win team not a 58 win team.

But you add two quality players to a 52 win team and you could vault right into more in line with what your record is.

That zone that Miami is forced to play because they so many subpar defenders isn't going to fly in the playoffs.
Exactly. Butler can only guard one player. Teams like us will feast on Duncan Robinson, Tyler Herro, and Dion Waiters.

They will have Iguodala to help out in that area now.

If he can still be a plus defender at 36 after sitting out half the year, I’ll be impressed.

If the Sixers are relying on Glen Robinson and Alec Burks to improve their rotation, they are scraping the bottom of the barrel.

The Celtics don't need those guys. The fact that Ainge isn't making trades indicates he isn't desperate, like Elton Brand is.

All they really need to do is help space the floor and hit open shots. They won’t be asked to do heavy lifting.

Burks is not a spot-up shooter. He is a shot creator. I don't think he offers a lot to space the floor. He's ok, but not especially helpful.

Any minute Robinson (or Burks) plays is a minute taken away from Harris, Thybulle, or Josh Richardson, which is a compromise of their defense. In my opinion, that makes the Sixers less scary.

Plus, these guys are not playoff rotation players, or if they are, they are not good ones.

C's probably got out bid on that front by the 76ers willing to take both and give up 3 2nd rounders.

Would you want to give up a first round pick? Eat two roster spots? The 76ers had 8 extra second round picks and could outbid anything short of a first round pick.

I would have gladly given up the Bucks 1st + Green for Burks. Not Robinson, just Burks.

Burks can score, and score in bunches. He'd be the perfect remedy for our bench scoring (or lack of at times). I didn't really care about Robinson, but Burks I really wanted.

Oh well, hope guys like Saric remain an option. Though I've resorted to the likelihood that Ainge won't make any move today. Still possible he signs someone in the buyout market later on.

That's nuts.

Would you say the Clippers should be willing to trade a first round pick for Brad Wanamaker?

He can, but are you sure he will, especially on a team like the Sixers without floor spacing? Have you thought about how bad of a defender he is? How he can't create for others?

This trade made me smile, because it means the sixers are desperate and have no better options.

Is it really possible that the Heat gave up Justise Winslow for Iquodada?

Wow, what a great deal for Memphis.

I am shocked. Winslow is the better player today. Nevermind in two years time. Why would Miami do this? They screwed themselves.

Great trade for Memphis. They got far more than they ever deserved to get for Iguodala. Absolutely brilliant.

They have been playing Trey freakin Burke and Naul Neto as bench guards. The two players aren't great, but they don't have to be to give them some decent value in the rotation. I don't think it changes a ton but it could mean a win or two on the margins which is all you can ask for.

The only reasons I can see this making any sense is that:

1. Winslow is not going to be healthy this year
2. They don't think Winslow/Bam can play together effectively (but Iggy would pose the same issue imo...)

The Gallo move is one that is the real upgrade for the Heat imo, if they can get it done.

It's a late 1st and we can't keep all three (Bucks, Celtics, Grizzlies). What about guys like Saric?

The reason why I don't really say Bertans/Bjelica (though I like them both a lot) is they make 7M and a trade would have to be something like 3-4 of our bench guys just to match salaries. I know our end of bench guys aren't key players but I doubt Danny would want to gut our depth for a trade (even if it's something like Edwards + Poirier + Green + Picks for Bjelica)

Saric I believe only makes like 3M and I think he's not being utilized properly with PHO. He'd be a great fit and he did well with PHI before they prioritized their max guys and couldn't keep him.
