Just what the Knicks need...another PF.

Lakers Twitter is implying that it would in some way be for Morris, for a net zero power forward gain.

Sounds like a LeBron move.

That was my first thought too.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
That doesn't exactly sound like great value for Kuzma, but Morris brings a little bit of toughness that Kuzma lacks. He is also an expiring so that isn't wonderful for the Lakers, but I doubt Morris gets more next year than he is making now anyway so they could re-sign him.

If I am the Knicks, I am all over this. They signed Morris away from the Spurs this past off-season and could turn him into a legitimate piece for their future.

They should get back more than Morris for Kuzma but what else do NYK have that the Lakers need?

Knicks too short on win-now players. They only have work in progress players. Those guys won't help the Lakers in a title contention campaign.

The Lakers could use a 2nd rounder or two.  Knicks don't have their own 2nd rounders in 2020 and 2021 but they have Charlotte's.

I don’t think the Lakers would get anything else.  The salaries don’t match, so Knicks would have to take on extra players, requiring them to jettison some of their own.

Probably be no major trades this year like last season..couple of minors moves will be it..seems like every year we hear a lot of big names but nothing happens
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

Yeah i would think Morris and Kuzma would be similar value all things considered with their talent, upside, contracts, etc.

For a Laker run at a title, Morris has to have more value. He had a tremendous playoff run last year with the Celtics. He has a bit of a clutch gene. He is world's better defensively. He is having his best, most efficient season of his career(44.2/43.9/82.3...58.2 TS%) and he is a guy that could easily be in a Laker final 5 on the court to end games(Davis, LeBron, Morris, Green, Bradley)

Minor deals are definitely the way I want us to go. We’ve seemingly got great chemistry, and injuries (in my mind) are the only thing holding us back from truly contending.

Kuzma went from being better than Tatum/Brown/Mitchell/Ball/Ingram, etc. etc. according to the media, to being in trade talks for the likes of Morris and D-Rose LOL
