Marcus smart cements his record in a franchise that had all time great 3pt shooters like larry bird, ray allen, Jason terry, Dana Barros, etc

against phoenix he was 11-22, thats 50%

For comparison the most 3PA Curry has ever had in a game was 20.

Does smart have a new weapon in his arsenal?

It pretty weird that a guy who gets mentioned as one of the worst shooters of all time is our record holder for 3's in a game.  I'm not sure if I like it or not.  It might be better if Smart himself was not aware of it

He’s not a bad shooter anymore. For this year and last year, when he’s open, he’s a good bet to make the shot. Plus, he’s streaky which sometimes works in our favor!

You're absolutely right!  His release is pretty good but other parts are frequently drifting or out of alignment.   After the last game is 3pt percentage is just about league average.  Field goal percentage is still only 38% though

Tbh, I generally feel like his shots inside the arc are more likely to miss than beyond it (not counting FTs)

He kind of shot his way back into decent percentage.  I think his confidence is through the roof, and expect that his numbers over all will be on the upswing.  Good for him.

I am happy for him, but I don't expect his % to increase all that much. While he has a decent stroke from catch-and-shoot, he still just takes way too many headscratchers to ever become a real weapon. It's not like he is Kemba off the dribble or anything. I'd love for him to focus on only taking open 3s.

When you have a mediocre shooter like Marcus who is never shy about gunning away (similar to a guy like Antoine Walker) anything can happen on any given night, but overall he'll most likely continue to be a mediocre shooter (although I'd LOVE to be proven wrong).

Regardless I am happy for him that he got the record.

I think he finished last season hitting about 36% from 3. I expect his percentage to climb back to about that level for the year by end of season. Plus or minus 1%.  I think that is realistic.
