Here's the thing.
If Donte DiVincenzo is draining from 28 feet or canning a between-the-legs pullup three in your face, you're going to lose. Period. There's nothing your defense can do about it, because your defense is far more interested in pretty much everybody else on the Bucks' roster. Kid shoots 32% from three. We don't mind those shots.
Any defense is going to give up something. And I generally think we aren't closing out hard enough tonight, but some of these are shots that the defense doesn't mind and the Bucks are hitting anyway. And if that happens, then you tip your cap and take the L.
The far more frustrating thing to me is that we don't seem to force teams into these lesser-of-two-evils defensive decisions. Everything seems to be difficult for us except maybe Smart's shots, and I feel like that's an indicator that we aren't getting enough out of our talent on offense. The only reason we aren't down 30+ is Kemba hitting several difficult shots in the second quarter.
