C’s can shore up the middle with Drummond and thin out their excess at the wind position.

Of course we could also either deal Jaylen but I think he’s just too young to deal away right now.

I believe he would trade Hayward in a second if it improved the team, but I don't think Drummond is the guy he'd do it for.

Celtics inquired probably to see if a deal could be made at a value that's low relative to what they're comfortable with.

Danny would deal anyone but he has to think the deal is an improvement. IT for Kyrie is a prime example...

It’s worth noting that if you’re trading for a big, it’s predominantly to match up better with Embiid... and Embiid routinely s***s on Drummond.

I’m personally of the belief that our center-by-committee approach is adequate even against big teams, provided our Walker/Brown/Hayward/Tatum quartet plays well.  But if we do make a move, I’d rather it not be for Drummond.

Ruthless enough? Yes. Dumb enough? No

Hayward is better for the team than Drummond. He keeps the ball moving. His midrange game has become his bread and butter that is hard to guard. He settles the offense when it gets out of control.

We don't need an elite or over payed center. Some one like Haynes fits perfect.  Not sure why Noel doesn't get more minutes. But in the limited time he gets he puts up solid numbers. But could be gotten for peanuts. Mobamba is the same as Noel. Cost a bit more. Meph pic would be needed.

I'd rather roll with the starters we have ave take some of the your guts and bundle them up for her bench help.

We don’t have an excess at the wing. We have the luxury of playing for 48 minutes with excellent starting caliber players.

I’ve been beating this drum for a while now, but to say it again and in agreement with Sketch5, I’d like to see a small move for Nerlens Noel. He plays good D, rebounds and can be a lob Target. I think it will be hard to find a difference maker at center this year.

My ideal gameplan for this team the rest of this year through the draft is:

1. Offer a few 2nd round picks for Noel. If he says he doesn’t want to go back to OKC  - you could probably get that done

2. If you don’t trade for Noel, look to add him or Other likely buyout candidates to the roster (Favors, Thompson, Noel, etc. just get one more serviceable big in the rotation to muck it up with Theis, Kanter and TimeLord.

3. Hopefully draft one fairly impactful PF or Center with the Memphis pick. And if there are good young bigs available with the Bucks and Celt picks, take them.

This team is a legit big man away from being really, really great, with legitimate title shots starting now and for a very long time if we can get that front court to the next level.

Ruthless has nothing to do with it. You don't trade for players of a lesser caliber.

agreed.

They had a discussion on BST last night after the game about trading for Drummond rumors and shot down any reason for the C's to trade for him.
1. Theis and Kanter are doing a really solid, and under appreciated, job against everyone they've played so far.
2. if the purpose of getting Drummond is to deal with the big centers of the league like Embiid, Jokic and Davis -- they all eat him alive.  We'd trade a great wing for a Center that won't move the needle for us at all.

After the IT trade, I've learned Ainge is always ruthless lol. But no, he wouldn't do it for Drummond.

Exactly. We don’t even have a weakness at centre, so this move makes no sense.

Bingo. ^

As time has shown, the IT trade was genius. Unfortunately Kyrie didn't work out very well in Boston. We traded a broken piece for a much less broken piece.

The truth is Drummond is the wrong center to trade for. He doesn't fit the style Boston is trying to develop. Plus he's very expensive.

Yes.  Danny also has a history of trading or not resigning good players who had severe or chronic leg injuries (Rondo, IT, Tony and Ray Allen)

Two of those players left in FA when Danny wanted to keep them for what its worth.
