Kanter makes our team better.  He has flaws, but all roleplayers do.  That’s why they’re roleplayers.

He also appears to be a positive presence in the locker room, which is important in its own way... as we found out last year.

Good signing.  Hope he keeps playing well for us.

Kanter with 14 points and 11 rebounds. I think I heard Mike Gorman say Kanter leads the league in double doubles off the bench. Now averaging 8.8/7.9 with 0.9 blocks in just 18 minutes a game and now is averaging 11.6/11.5 over last 9 games.

I listened to part if the game on the radio and they mentioned Kanter leading the league for offensive rebounding, but I'm not sure how. If he's averaging 7.9 rpg then it must be rate or ORB%, I assume someone like Drummond would have more total ORBs

Edit: just looked it up and it must be ORB%. Kanter leads all players (>300 minutes played) at 18.2%, second place is 15.6% (Chris Boucher on Toronto)

For reference, the Thunder are at just 19.6% for the season (Celtics, meanwhile, are 7th in the league at 23.9%)

Yeah, I think I mentioned his ORB% in the OP that he was 3% higher than everyone else once he met the qualifier. When he is on the floor, he is almost always the best rebounder on the floor at that time.

His positioning is excellent, he predicts where the ball will bounce very well. On a few of his OR vs Atl it almost looked like he sucked the ball in, like his hands are a literal magnet. Good to see him doing it for us, I dont have fond memories of him playing against us

I'm obviously not at all comparing Kanter to Garnett, but just simply in terms of rebounding, when was the last time we had a center who could consistently grab 9+ rebounds a game and make it look easy? So refreshing to see nowadays. Like you see Kanter actually fight for boards, no matter who the opposing bigs are.

I could easily see Kanter throwing up a couple 20 rebound games if he were given the minutes.

but how many of those would be offensive rebounds from his own missed shots?
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

There's some truth to that, but at least he frequently rebounds his own misses, unlike everyone else on the team.

Yes, that absolutely is a positive!

Against the Hawks, Kanter came out at the very end...Thies came in and made two huge defensive plays.

Stevens uses them the right way.

Kanter has made multiple really high level plays defensively since he started playing today. Challenges at the rim. Strips. Blocks.

Credit where credit is due. He looks like an upper tier defender at times. Against the Bulls in the first quarter was one of those times.

Props in order for Enes. Had to be his best game as a Celtic.  Unstoppable in the low post!

Kanter is basically the new Evan Turner. For obvious reasons, a fair amount of fans rolled their eyes when the Celtics brought him in, but Brad has put him in a position where he could thrive by having him play to his strengths while the team itself mitigates his weaknesses as well as they possibly can.

Kanter's never not going to have his warts - much like Turner - but he brings so many qualities that the Celtics have never had before in the Brad Stevens era.

I was one of the skeptics coming into the season. I am so glad to be wrong about Enes.
