Seen this type of thing naturally floating around as the decade comes to an end, so I thought it would be interesting to see what opinions people had!

For me it goes:

All-Decade First Team:
Stephen Curry: 6 x All-Star & All-NBA, 3 x Champion, 2 x MVP (first unanimous) and changed the game drastically.

James Harden: 7 x All-Star, 6 x All-NBA, 1 x MVP (including 2 other top-2 finishes, and another likely top 2 finish this season), one of the most unguardable players of all time.

LeBron James: 10 x All-Star & All-NBA, 3 x Champion, 3 x MVP (could, and some might argue should, be more), top 5 player all-time.

Kevin Durant: 10 x All-Star, 9 x All-NBA, 2 x Champion, 1 x MVP, one of the most unstoppable yet efficient scorers we've ever seen, even if his joining GSW was lame.

Kawhi Leonard: 3 x All-Star, 3 x All-NBA, 2 x Champion, 2 x DPOY. Despite not having the regular season accolades of the other members of this team, his defence and winning gets him in for me.

All-Decade Second Team:
Russell Westbrook: 8 x All-Star, 8 x All-NBA, 1 x MVP, and has normalised triple-doubles like nobody we've seen since Oscar Robertson.

Chris Paul: 8 x All-Star, 8 x All-NBA, and one of the best defensive point guards of this generation. His longevity in spite of injuries helps his case for me too.

Anthony Davis: 6 x All-Star, 3 x All-NBA, one of the best two-way big men of the decade (if not the best), and is still not yet 27. His last 6 seasons in particular have been amazing.

Carmelo Anthony: 8 x All-Star, 3 x All-NBA, one of the most dynamic scorers of the decade, and is proving that despite the weird agenda against him he can still be a useful player.

LaMarcus Aldridge: 7 x All-Star, 5 x All-NBA, has been a 21/9 guy for the whole decade on a number of pretty solid teams, and has been able to stay healthy (gives him the edge over Blake for me).

All-Decade Third Team:
Dwyane Wade: 8 x All-Star (one doesn't really count though), 4 x All-NBA, 2 x Champion, and was a huge part of the second best team of the decade. Perhaps stayed 2 seasons too long.

Damian Lillard: 4 x All-Star, 4 x All-NBA, has blossomed into one of the most dynamic scoring guards who routinely leads his (in my opinion) unimpressive teammates into the playoffs.

Blake Griffin: 6 x All-Star, 5 x All-NBA, one of the most impressive athletes we've ever seen, and was a key cog in the playoff runs made by Lob City.

Giannis Antetokounmpo: 3 x All-Star, 3 x All-NBA, 1 x MVP, late onto the scene for the decade, but is showing Shaq-like dominance as a scorer, and keeps adding layers to his game (passing, shooting).

Paul George: 6 x All-Star, 5 x All-NBA, one of the best two-way wings of the generation (probably only behind Kawhi and a young, interested LeBron).

Kobe, Jimmy Butler, DeMarcus Cousins, Dwight Howard and Pau are all honourable mentions for me.

Who ya got?
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)

PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

This would probably my All-Decade team selection. Obviously it's near identical to what Thinking Basketball churned out, but there are some minor differences.

All-Decade First Team
LeBron James: this decade alone would put him in rarefied air among All-Time greats, 10 MVP calibre seasons with a good number of them knocking on the door of transcendence.

Stephen Curry: the last half of the decade was awesome for him (all of those years were MVP calibre seasons with a couple nearing transcendence), but he also adds value by stringing together a couple of All-Star/All-NBA seasons to go along with those amazing 5 years.

Kevin Durant: Most of his years were MVP worthy throughout the decade excluding his 2015 season (he only played 27 games), fantastic consistency and sustained excellence.

Chris Paul: had MVP level lift (weaker than KD/Steph/Bron though) for half the decade and was generally strong for the other 5 years, racking up a few All-Star and All-NBA years each in those 5 non MVP years.

Dirk Nowitzki: his best 3 year stretch was 2009-2011, giving him 3 MVP years (he declined in 2012 but he still provided great lift due to his ageless pick and pop game and resilient post scoring) and some decent post-prime years until 2015, then had a final positive year in 2016. I love his peak for a non transcendent guy - I think it puts him just over Harden due to how strong his '10 and '11 seasons were.

All-Decade Second Team
James Harden: started providing near All-Star lift with the Thunder in 2012 and improved every single year after that with multiple Chris Paul-esque MVP years and a few more All-NBA years. Sneaky good value throughout the decade.

Dwyane Wade: had a couple of Chris Paul-esque MVP years at the turn of the decade and tacked on an All-NBA year plus a few more All-Star worthy years for a very strong first half of the decade.

Anthony Davis: had some really good All-NBA and All-Star seasons in the latter half of the decade as one of the best bigs in the league with a couple of fringe MVP years in 2018 and 2019 imo.

Dwight Howard: was great in the first half of the decade, had some fringe MVP years with the Magic and had some All-NBA/All-Star years after that before falling off after his stint in Houston.

Russell Westbrook: no MVP calibre peak but a lot of All-NBA and All-Star years throughout the decade.

All-Decade Third Team
Kawhi Leonard: basically Dwight but in the latter half of the decade, grew into a fringe MVP guy as the decade was coming to an end. Injuries hurt him imo, his missed year in 2018 was really damaging to his chances of finishing in the second team.

Draymond Green: was a perennial All-NBA guy after the 2015 season and had some top 10 seasons due to his incredible defensive value and a bit of playmaking.

LaMarcus Aldridge: was a quality player throughout the decade, I know he was never a high peak player (you can make the argument that he never had an All-NBA calibre peak), but the 10 seasons of near All-Star to All-Star production really stacks up over time and I think he deserves a spot here.

Klay Thompson: great complementary star who consistently provided fringe All-NBA value or better in the latter half of the decade.

Damian Lillard: similar to Klay but with an extra year or two of All-Star value.

Note:
I would have put Paul George in Klay's spot if All-Decade teams were even more fluid in terms of positions but I think he's just behind LMA.

1st Team - James, Durant, Curry, Harden, Paul
2nd Team - Westbrook, Leonard, Davis, Aldridge, Anthony
3rd Team - Lillard, Wade, Howard, George, Giannis

I just went with the best player regardless of position.  I think you could make several reasonable arguments for any number of players for the last few spots, but feel pretty good about the 1st and 2nd teams.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

I second this.

In fact, my all decade team would consist of five Marcus Smarts
