Suns could sell high on him, Ayton can't play the 4, maybe Baynes wants to start somewhere? If so that would help out quite a bit in the Playoffs.

IIRC if he’s traded then cut we can sign him, but not sure how accurate that is.
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

The league has previously put out a statement saying that it is legal to do so, so it's definitely accurate. It seemed like there was no chance of him being traded when he was balling out, but maybe it'll happen

I think he'd be the perfect starting center for this team right now
I'm bitter.

Meh, he's fallen off due to injuries just like his prior years with the C's. Much like Theis he seems to wear down if he's played big minutes.

I'd love to have him but I think the overblown pining for him is silly.

He’s not a shot blocker, but I think he protects the rim well.

He'll never be a 30 mpg guy, but having him play 20 mpg would be a great addition to our line. Right now Kanter is the only guy capable of matching up with Embiid, Baynes would give us another body (and one that isn't a defensive liability)
I'm bitter.

He's a better rim protector than guys who blocks lots of shots. He dissuades drives because he is physical and has good positioning. Also do not bite on upfakes a lot. On offense he sets good screens, can move the ball and shoot from 3.

I see Aaron Baynes as no better than Theis or Kanter.  Different, more defense and rebounding, less scoring and passing, but not much of a needle-mover.

I think what we need and should hold out for is a legit starting big.  Not easy to get a legit starting big mid-season but Baynes is not that.

Baynes has probably become one of the most overrated players that we have secretly pined for...

He's great, but at the end of the day, he's another lumbering big that cannot stay healthy, not a shot blocker, more of a rim protector, and cannot play over 25 MPG.

IIRC if he’s traded then cut we can sign him, but not sure how accurate that is.

Baynes may very well be the best Embiid defender in basketball and was arguably the MVP of our series win over Philly two years ago (or at least close to it).

Is he a star? No, but he is absolutely, positively a needle mover.

But it's a moot point, anyway. Unless another team trades for him and then cuts him (which won't happen), we can't re-acquire him this season.
