Theis is just more versastile defensively and he also is both a roll and a pop option. Add in that he's lower usage than Kanter and I'm definitely in favor of starting Theis.

How many burly post match ups are you really worried about? Compare that to how many guards can cook slow footed bigs in the PnR game.

I think Brad needs to go all-in on situational match ups with these guys.  I would start Theis against most lineups, given his more versatile defense and his low-USG offense (a nice complement to the starters).   Overall, I think Theis' ability to switch makes him a great fit with our 3-wings against most opponents.  And I think Kanter's usually more valuable offensively with the bench.

But against lineups like Philly, I would definitely prefer if Brad had started Kanter, who is a much better match up than Theis against Embiid.  I don't think it is enough to just 'bring him off the bench for more minutes'.  If starting, you should be able to pace Kanter out to be on the floor more -- ~28-32 minutes.   It's really hard to get him that many minutes coming off the bench because rest rotations aren't as optimal.

Consider that we were positive with Kanter on the floor in both PHI games and dramatically negative without him, you want a rotation that can put him out there for more of the game.

NBA Officiating - Corrupt?  Incompetent?  Which is worse?  Does it matter?  It sucks.

this is what I felt watching. Glad the numbers support it.  I do think we'd see more of that against mon Philly teams as well with Kanter starting.  He is just better than Theis and that matters
