No, they signed James and Davis did not want to come here, so that is not out maneuvering us.

Davis didn’t want to sign with us because Rich Paul (LeBron) poisoned him against us.

Agents work on their clients' behalf. AD didn't want to come here, Rich ensured that he didn't. People keep trying to blame Rich Paul, but he just did his job.

The Lakers are 14-0 against team under .500. They are 17-2 overall. They have legit had a cupcake schedule so far.

I think Paul’s primary allegiance is to Lebron, and I don’t think that’s much of a secret.

this is a bunch of nonsense.  an agent represents his client.  He does what his client wants.  Sure Lebron is Paul's first and most famous client, but there is no way Paul doesn't represent the best interests of his other clients as well, or he wouldn't have them as clients.

Ditto. AD wanted to force a trade without being the bad guy, Rich Paul made it happen. The fact the people are still thinking that AD is just some manipulated oaf goes to show how effective Rich was in taking the heat off of AD. I think AD's father's comments shed a lot of light on how AD felt about the potential of playing for the C's. He didn't want to be here, that's his prerogative.

This.

Plus they've had a lot of home games.

AD and LeBron are playing 35 mins apiece...not sure how long they can workhorse these two before they get worn down.

Lakers are running against Father Time right now....they've been pretty fortunate with their injuries so far AND their schedule.

This month their opponents get a bit tougher AND they go on the road a bit.

I have SERIOUS concerns about a match up against them in a series - with our Big situation. But - just like 1986 - they may not even make it out of the West.

We'll see. Not counting us out against them but the Lakers are racing against time - make no mistake about it.

Let’s get one thing clear.  LAL GM job is the easiest in the entire NBA.
There was basically no effort to land LBJ and AD or Danny Green for that matter.  Top free agents want go there.

Almost every GM in the league; has to work for it. Except Lakers GM

When comparing front office; is like comparing apples to oranges.

Oh - and The Boston Celtics FO is IMO among the best in the League - from Coach up to Pres to the onwers.

Can't fault them for the misinformation campaign that swayed AD to LA.

Lakers by nature of being in LA, are always 1 offseason away from being elite. Their team looks good now, but come playoffs I like that Clipper team more.

Lakers completely outclassed by Luka and company. I hope this a sign of what will happen to LeBron in the playoffs

I love this.

Luka is my binky. DAL is one of my dark horses out west, along with POR.

If by outmaneuver you mean "choosing to be located in Los Angeles instead of Boston," the answer is yes.

Except of course for the fact that it is a daily soap opera with Jeannie Buss and the crazy la-la land people out there.  8)

the Lakers have also had a cupcake schedule. They have played twenty games but only 6 have been against teams currently above 500. Of those six game 5 have been in LAL (4 home, 1 against Clippers). They are now 3-3 in those games. Don't get me wrong beating bad teams is important, but lets see how they respond to a tougher schedule.
