I have a funny feeling that we are in for LA-Boston finals once again, so I opened the thread thinking it can't hurt our chances.

Two best teams in the West are LA teams, Clips first, Lakers close second.
East is a Milwaukee & Boston race. With Philly lurking from behind.
If we do our thing and reach the finals, we might hear that epic "Beat LA" chant in the finals once again.
"The joy of the balling under the rims."

I'd be down for another LAL - BOS showdown. We ARE like 9-3 against them in the Finals, so there's that.

Is Joey Crawford or his cronies still around, though?

We need another LAL vs. Boston in the Finals.

Lebron has been owning the Celts since he went to Miami.

Celts need payback for Lebron and the 2010 Finals.

I am heavily against an LAL final. It’s funny how some folks just live for intense competition while others (like me) just want the win. I want the easiest road possible and don’t want any risk of LAL tying the C’s championships record.  Can’t imagine a worse scenario than LAL (Nicholson, Cannon, and any new LA stars) with cocky winning grins after another relatively easy rebuild. On the other hand, doesn’t matter much to me who the C’s beat in the finals - I suppose it’s slightly more gratifying to beat LA, but not worth the risk.

I agree completely.  As much as I hate the lakers the pain of losing to them in 2010 was so much more intense than the joy of beating them in 2008.  I was a mess for weeks after that series.  Now I'm 10 years older and I don't think I can take that kind of stress over the two to three weeks it takes to play a finals series.

And yes, the constant talk about 17-16 would really get to me.  I won't open that can of worms here but I have my feelings on the merit of that.

I'd much rather see the Clips in the finals.
We don't need to beat LA Lakers to beat LA in the finals

I'd much rather we face a Cinderella team in the finals than LAL or LAC. I'd prefer to get the win and some separation before we go through another roller coaster ride in the form of a LAL/BOS series.

I hope so.  I want to use my BEAT LA baseball cap again (black with green lettering).

Give me a finals with the Lakers all day and twice on Sunday.
For the following reasons (in no particular order):
1. Beating Lebron in a finals
2. Beating A.D. after he decided to go there
3. Beating one of Lebron's dumb (I can only play with superstars) super teams
4. To watch the sports networks that have essentially crowned the Lakers the 2019-2020 champions with the amount of coverage they give them on a daily basis
4. To watch Nick Wright's head explode
5. Because I believe we would beat the Lakers with our defense
6. To watch Tatum dunk on Lebron in the Finals
7. Because it's the Lakers
8. To show the youth of today who is the superior basketball organization

A healthy Celtics vs. a Kawhi+George led Clippers team would be a fun Finals  ;D

I hope Clips beat Lakers because I think we match up better against them.

Yeah I don't get it either. My Mom even says during close Patriots games, "now this is great to watch" (because she's usually bored of the Pats constantly winning during the regular season and by comfortable margins usually). Like no, I'd rather the team wins in blowout fashion, ESPECIALLY in the playoffs or Finals  :P

People last season were like, "bring on the KC Chiefs" and I'm like, "nah I'd rather they get upset and we face an easier team" LOL
