That seemed tongue in cheek to me.  Maybe it wasn't, but that is how I read it.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

C;mon Perk...you are EASILY one of my favorite Celtics but many of us here gave you a break when you went cavorting off behind LeBron in CLE......chirping at the GSW players from the bench......

Give Kyrie a break.

Lot of folks writing checks right now that Kyrie AND Durant will be cashing next year.

If Durant loses ANYTHING from this injury or his time off it will be minimal. That means he will STILL be a top 12 player...Kyrie will play better with the Alpha beside him that he unfortunately could NOT get in BOS...............

You his cousin or lawyer? You defend this man a lot.

I defend him a lot because - as Marcus Smart has already alluded to on ESPN -

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ukTm-OlAFmA

....the 2018-19 season was NOT all on Kyrie....if you want to just simply look at the first 2:30 seconds of the clip.

Smart gives insight into Kyrie Irving that most don't even care to look for.

He stated that when his mother passed Kyrie Irving was THE FIRST player to call him and TALK to him about it.....WHY isn't this stuff discussed here on CelticsStrong??

WHY do we continuously try to pin this on KYRIE?

From Marcus Smarts' comments - sounds like The Coach and perhaps Management deserves some blame...inability to manage egos....TOO MUCH TALENT..perhaps? Trying to stockpile ALL THAT TALENT for AD to go to our hated enemies.............

How about Perk, the WORLD and Celticsstrong look at the BIG picture?

LOOK - Kyrie Irving is QUIRKY - no doubt about that. Moody? Sure...but I will simply NEVER agree to march lockstep with some folks' opinion of him.

Why didn't THIS

Get more play here on Celticsstrong?

All we hear about on here is how Kyrie Irving destroyed The 2018-19 Boston Celtics.

C'mon people.

So because he does some good things he can't be a Edited for profanity.  Please do not do it again.ty teammate and leader? We've heard from multiple people: he is super nice and engaging one day and then the next day he treats everyone on the team like they are nothing to him and doesn't talk to anyone. He threw his teammates under the bus multiple times in public!

Within a month of the team struggling he's already looking for the exit on the team that he just said he wanted to be at long term. He's a great player but he's a toxic leader and presence in the locker room who doesn't enable the rest of the team to be great or even have a healthy mindset. Listen to how Jaylen talked about the anxiety he had last year and in the past. When the best player on the team whom the entire organization is empowering makes you feel awful about trying to do your job how does that effect performance?

I'm sure it'll really show us how he is not a toxic failure of a leader is when he gets a MVP caliber teammate back and suddenly his team is a contender again. That will really show us a lot about Kyrie.  ::)

Perkins is going all in on Pierce's hot takery, but with more gusto and conviction. "He says a lot of stuff" to quote Zach Lowe.

Seems to be working pretty well for him in media, I'm glad he's found a niche and  is building a nice career in punditry.
