A kid or three will need to grow up fast for the Celtics to still be winning games with their 2 best players out .
Wherefore art thou Romeo?  ;)

Prayers to Kemba, hope he’s back on the court soon.

This team has been cursed with injuries, since 2009. And sadly, quite a few of them are very significant ones.

Hopefully Kemba's isn't that.

Few? I don't think few is the right word. Almost every year we are trying to contend, there is a significant injury that costed us a playoff series or 2. And they always happen in the worst time possible.

2009 - KG down, lost in the 2nd round
2010 - Perk down in game 6 of NBA finals that could have sealed their trophy
2011 - Shaq down, Rondo down. Would easily demolish the Heat if healthy
2012 - Jeff Green out for whole season, Bradley missing playoffs after the first round
2013 - Rondo out before the all-star break, ending a what-could-have-been dynasty
2016 - Lost Bradley for the rest of the first round. Would have at least make the 2nd round if he was healthy
2017 - IT hurt just after reaching the ECF.
2018 - Hayward already out for the whole season. We might have been in the finals already even if Kyrie was out.
2019 - Hayward's injury carried over into the season as part of his progress. As a result, it ruined the chemistry of the players

I truly believe THIS played more of a role in team disfunction than us as the fans realize....

Kyrie did not have his Batman ready to battle with him...

Of course Kyrie could've been a better leader...Smart even alluded to this. But that bolded part - IMO - played a HUGE role last year.

Also - for your list you left off the tragedies of Bias and Lewis - especially Bias. Bias was going to allow Bird to perhaps stay in elite form for a few more years...allow us to stave off LA and perhaps DET......take the pressure off of Larry..

As for Kemba AND GH? There is nothing but a BRIGHT future ahead for us Celtics Fans. While I don't like to see either of them out or hurt AT LEAST this is happening NOW rather than in April May or June...I'd very much rather get these injuries NOW rather than later.

From the Celtics: Following testing at a Denver hospital, Kemba Walker has been released to rejoin the team for its return to Boston. He will be re-evaluated tomorrow and further updates will be provided as appropriate.

Sounds like good news.

Last season Horford missed some games because of the concussion protocol.

Hopefully Kemba can return sooner than later.

This 100%.
As fans we get disappointed with injuries and loses. But the fight that this team has shown on the road despite both,  shows they have what it takes to be a top team and one that will be tough as hell for anyone to have to play. When we get Kemba and Gordon back, and if we stay healthy, watch out.

Hayward runs into Aldridge, fractured hand. Kemba runs into his own teammate, and concussion-like symptoms which, at the time, actually looked like a very serious neck injury.

Like these aren't even "dirty" plays or true basketball injuries, just some freak accidents. I know some think the Aldridge play might have been a bit dirty and the Spurs were playing physical, but again, it's not like Aldridge physically fought Hayward or anything. It was a hard screen and Hayward's hand hit him in an awkward position.

Our luck...  :(

I said the same thing after this happened. Since 2009, man...always someone, always something.
