I hope he's going to be ok but that looked bad.  I don't see why Ojeyle didn't catch him.  The dude was falling into you headfirst.  Reach out and help a brother out?

Oof.  Unlucky injury strikes the Celtics again.  I hope this is not too serious but it looked bad.  Kemba needed to be carried out on a stretcher...  Prayers go out to Walker and his family.  Ouch.

I'd have to look again, but my memory is that it happened far too quick to respond in a protective way.

Seems a bit harsh to put any blame on Ojeleye. Kemba didn't seem to be moving that quickly or that out of control.

Let's hope it's nothing too serious!

Ojeleye was just standing there.

Kemba just ran into him.

It was an accident.

Blame is the last thing I would be placing here.

This team has been cursed with injuries, since 2009. And sadly, quite a few of them are very significant ones.

Hopefully Kemba's isn't that.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
Just in case people are checking for updates here instead of the game thread:

Kemba Walker told Brad Stevens, “I’m fine” during  halftime ambulance visit. Stevens seemed optimistic given scary nature of injury but was waiting to hear on further testing.

Hopefully he's OK. I didn't see the game live, but was constantly checking on game updates. I caught the replay of the injury. Obviously, falling into Ojeyele didn't look good, however it looked like Kemba may have been injured before running into him. From the angles I have seen, I can't tell if Jokic accidentally made contact with Kemba. His demeanor changed after passing Jokic before running in thg o Ojeyele.

True this.... 10 yrs man and the basketball gods still... No idea what to call it.. Curse is probably a lame term for it.

How else do you explain an iron man like Walker who has virtually not missed significant time in his whole NBA career and now this.... The list goes on and on and on Heck you can even count the 2 deaths of Bias and Lewis FFS.

From the Celtics: Following testing at a Denver hospital, Kemba Walker has been released to rejoin the team for its return to Boston. He will be re-evaluated tomorrow and further updates will be provided as appropriate.

Sounds like good news.

If he has a concussion, I wonder if that means he can't come back with the team tonight. Isn't air travel forbidden while suffering from the effects of a concussion? Could he be stuck there a few days?

Concussions are no joke. Horford was out 9 games 3 years ago with one, if I remember right.

Courageous effort tonight, but trying to win games without Kemba and Hayward for a 3-4 week stretch would really test Stevens and this team.

A kid or three will need to grow up fast for the Celtics to still be winning games with their 2 best players out .

Brown also missed 2 weeks in 2018 when he had that scary fall when his hand slipped from the rim after a dunk and he hit his head on the ground hard.  So, you never know.  There could be a wide range of number of games missed.  Fortunately, the next four games vs. Sacto, vs Brooklyn, at Brooklyn (both perhaps without Kyrie) and at NYK, are all "winnable" without Kemba.  This leaves 12/4 vs. the Heat as the next "challenging game".  (I say this all in quotes because I know it's the NBA and anything can happen, as losing in Sacto proved already).  But if you are going to lose Kemba for a moderate stretch, it's as good a time as any.
