Not his best game by far but give him a few weeks.
Not giving up on him.
You don't have to give up on him, he is already given up.  ;D

.  Need to see how he looks in a couple of weeks to really figure out if he can still contribute to winning basketball.

I’m not being facetious: when was the last time he played winning basketball?
He had a positive on/off per 100 possessions in OKC.  So from that perspective they were better when he was on the court then when he was off it.

10 points on 14 shots (second most on the team), 5 turnovers, 5 fouls, 0 assists, and a team worse -20 plus-minus.

I was shocked when I saw the 14 shots.  Guy has been out of the league for a year.  Just shows up and starts jacking up shots.  Scorer's mentality I guess...

He was only positive in OKC when he played the majority of his minutes with Roberson/George/Adams/Russ

Three all-defense caliber players that year and Russ. Once Roberson was out things snowballed on them and suddenly his defensive woes meant his lineups rating fell apart. Dude was so washed on defense he needed Roberson, George, AND Adams to cover for him.

And that was two years ago....

He took 16 shoots to score 15 points... He didn't look sharp in offense either.

Why do so many people want him to succeed? I want him to fail, his playing style and attitude is nothing but a detriment to the game. The Blazers commentators were kissing his behind so hard, saying things like - the NBA wants and needs him back. It certainly does not.

Also read a lot of comments saying how he hasn't played for one year and he needs some time to get back. Why do people love him so much? He has achieved nothing and is a ball-hog chucker of the worst degree.

I don’t understand people pulling for him or rooting against him. Unless he’s playing for us or an arch rival I’m just indifferent to the whole thing.

[dang], the Celtics dont play the Blazers until Feb 25 and then March 27. He'll probably be out of the starting lineup and/or released by then.

That is crazy. Great way to earn the trust and respect of your new teammates, coaches and GM.

I'm a Syracuse fan, we're contractually obligated to wish him well. Even though I don't care for his game or expect much of his future. He not only got them their only championship but has donated a ton of money and done a lot of positive things in the community. Kinda like Derrick Coleman oddly enough.

He is playing much better against the Bucks tonight.  With about 6 minutes left he has played 22 minutes, shooting 5 of 11 overall and 3 of 4 from 3 for 15 points and has added 5 rebounds and 4 assists.

He passes the eye test if you look at the stat sheet, not if you look at the game.

This was back-to-back-to-back plays tonight.

Pass it to the wing, cut toward the ball, get in the way of his teammate, stall the offense.

Fail to get back all the way on defense, his man back cut him but missed the dunk

Pass to the wing, stood at the top of the key when the player overthrew the ball, watched as Bledsoe easily went in for a layup.

The fact of the matter is that the Blazers were in this game until they put Melo back in.

He was -1 in 29 minutes, they lost by 8, so they were -7 in the 19 minutes he was on the bench.  In other words, overall they were better when he was in the game then when he was on the bench a couple plays here or there not with standing.

Did you watch the game? If not it seems really strange to argue with a guy that did. I also think everyone knows plus minus for a single game is not really meaningful. Gary Trent jr has the best plus minuses for Portland. Illasova was +11, much better than Giannis +5 (despite Giannis having a triple double through 3). Can we vote to ban single game plus minus on this forum?

He's serviceable. Surprised he went without work for a few years. Wonder if he got blackballed for being such a diva
