Theis has big plusses and some significant minuses as well. His defense has been excellent but he still just isnt that big, that will be a weakness in certain match ups. His rebounding rate is only okay. He isnt giving much on offense right now as he is shooting below 20% from three (on low volume) and not finishing particularly well either. Basically he's fine for now but you'd hope that RW can be a better option by the playoffs.

I want to know why he was undrafted in that weak draft.

The Theis I came to love was the Theis who was beasting before injury two years ago....his injury badly hurt the C's against the Cave in the ECF.

A few minutes earlier in the game Theis swatted a Young layup off the glass.

He's an experienced NBA player and he knows his role is defense.

Exceeding expectations. Next season's contract non-guaranteed too.

Yes!  I was definitely concerned last year that the original Theis we had seen in 2017-18 had been a figment.  But he is all he was and then some.  One of the pleasant surprises of the year.

Yuh, he is looking at something around 15-20 per probably, so little chance we keep him after next year. Beasting this year. Really need Rob Williams to suit up sooner rather than later.

Is that kissing him goodbye.  Or are you just alluding to Rob Williams?

$15-20m / season is insane. We just signed Kanter for $5m. Baynes was similar. Theis is great here, but I think Brad definitely helps him succeed. Theis getting more than Smart and similar $ to Julius Randle is not happening, unless a team with money goes insane.
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

yes, theis has had a very good season so far on defense. on offense he is all right given the other starters.

CBS uses him and kanter really well.

plus, ainge seems to be good at digging up acceptable to good players from europe. wannamaker is  good enough to be a rotation player in the nba. maybe ainge can dig up another theis-esque player this off season.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Wait, original Theis? Is the Theis we are seeing a synth or clone?  ;D
