His value went up like Bitcoin the other day

lol I just pulled him off the truck.
Tatum trade value just went up.

I guess Tatum should thank the heavens that Ogaju finally gave his approval....

For the moment.

Players like Tatum takes years to finally develop into a superstar. I seriously think that ECF against Cavs truly spoiled us..
Hey he stinks up the joint he should be traded. He plays well he should stay.

Ogaju, I like you, but it seems like time and time again your patience for players, especially young ones don't seem to last that long.

Wouldn't you want Tatum to do well? So if he sucks, trade him? Yes, because great players never have terrible days? Anyways this thread didn't age well, nor did OP even post once more after his terrible take lol.

just want the Cs to win....that's all. When I say trade a player I am expressing how I feel about him at that particular time. lol

Probably something you need to work on, it's not an especially good look.

I will stay just the way I am with my entertainment time and dollars. Thank you. You need to work on telling people how to enjoy their time.

Makes no difference to me how you enjoy your time. If anything registered with me at all with how people like you post it's nothing more than mild, contemptious amusement. And I certainly wouldn't think for a moment that you would ever stop to consider someone else's point of view as far as assessing your own behaviour.

why should I .... I am here to enjoy myself not to get assessed  by you. By the way you the fact that you even talk about 'assessing' my behavior betrays your statement that it makes no difference to you. It makes no difference to you, but here we are you cannot keep your own counsel.

Why do people assume trade=player sucks?  Huge pet peeve of mine when fans talk a player down and then suggest they be traded.  If you think he sucks then expect what comes back to suck too.

In this case of course, no one should be saying that Tatum sucks.  But especially given the composition of the roster, switching out one of the wings should be a consideration.  It might be the guy with the most value, the guy with the least, or the one in between.  They're all tradeable.  Just depends on what you get in return.

I still feel Tatum shows the best potential of anyone on the team. There are too many flashes of next level play in his game to bag on him given his age.
Now Brown turned it on this year from the small sample size we have seen so far. He has also been in the league a year longer. Not to mention guys develop at different rates, they are not all clones and shouldn't be viewed as all having the same brief time table of pull it all together already, or hit the bricks. Tatum has shown that he has learned from the way he was trying to play last year. He still shows a lot of raw talent, and once he puts it all together he will be at a totally different level, and we will be glad we didn't get rid of him.
I really feel he is trying too hard. Let him grow up. Even Kemba was guilty of that the first couple of games and he has been in the league for several years.

What separates Tatum from the pack is he's not afraid of big moments.

Jayson Tatum is not afraid to take big shots.

A closer, that's what Jayson Tatum is.

I've already gone on record stating that his offense so far has been somewhat disappointing. Having said that, i'm seeing flashes of brilliance in his game. He is playing like a rookie basically, who shows flashes but is yet to piece it all together. The game is moving too fast for him right now. When the game starts to slow down for him and he stops rushing everything i think we might have a real player on our hands.

No one really does that.

What they assume is that people who propose such trades "want" them to happen. Hence they dispute whether or not its worth it.

Plus just look at poster behavior. The same people largely propose trades for the same players with every morphing frameworks over the course of the year. It leads to some baggage that carries over.  ;D

Maybe this thread is gonna age just as well as the Smart vs Rozier thread years ago.

Rozier last night was 22-5-6-3 he's doing just fine.

**** this is an idiotic reply. Smart vs Rozier thread was all about who we shouldve kept. Rozier's stats on another team means squat (and he is still shooting badly despite being skewed by a good game vs a god awful sacramento team) in terms of that discussion. The mere fact that Rozier  was one of the culprits for a dysfunctional locker last year vs Smart who is one of the leaders of this team clearly show that yeah, that thread didn't age well.

Stats without context is useless.

Calling someone’s reply idiotic is weird. Just disagree. What is this the realgm board?

Bingo!  Tatum has a ways to go before he can be replied upon to create his own shot, but I absolutely trust him to hit the big ones in key moments.

Pretty much EVERYONE does that.  Now, I might be exaggerating with the "player sucks" statement but look at almost all trade proposals and they start by talking about player X not living up to expectations or something of the like, followed by "trade him".

The corollary, of course, the the idea that because someone thinks a player should be traded that the person thinks the player "sucks".

As a for me, I think we still have one too many similar wings and would not mind one to be traded for a dead eye shooter or a big.  I understand that each of the wings has a certain value and I would be okay whoever was dealt.  I also understand that hayward would likely have the lowest value and would thus bring the least back in return.

Tatum is one of the most valuable trade assets in the league right now (especially considering his production while still being on a rookie contract). As stated by NBA GM's:

Quote
NBA GM Survey 2019-20
Which player is most likely to have a breakout season in 2019-20?

1. De'Aaron Fox, Sacramento -- 19%

2. Jaren Jackson Jr., Memphis -- 11%

    Jayson Tatum, Boston -- 11%

4. Brandon Ingram, New Orleans -- 7%

    Jamal Murray, Denver -- 7%
