Doncic could miss 2 weeks.  Should make wed easier but I would rather try to beat them at full strength.
I never understand this opinion. You play who is there. If an opposition's star gets hurt and it's to the Celtics' advantage, great. I don't wish injury on anyone, but if it happens and benefits the Celtics, I am okay with beating the opposition without their star.

I am sure Raptors fans didn't cry over Durant getting hurt in the Finals. And that the 2010 Lakers were upset they didn't beat the Celtics with a healthy Perkins.

To me its pretty simple, this is an entertainment product. I will be more entertained if Doncic plays, hence him not paying is disappointing.
I am more entertained when the Celtics win. If Doncic not being there helps the Celtics win, I am actually more entertained with him sitting than him playing and the Celtics losing.

If I want to be entertained by Doncic, I will watch him play a different game and team.

Sixers getting blown out by the Nets tonight without Embiid.

The injury bug is making its way around the league now and evening things out a bit.

The Celtics had injuries to Hayward, Kemba, and Smart, and kept it close in every game against good teams. People here freaked out and said we aren't contenders.

Should the Sixers fans freak out now?

How about the Mavs once they start losing now that Luka's out for an extended period?

Sixers like the Celtics are very dependent on their top 5 players and they also should be praying they stay healthy

Sure, but which team isn't heavily dependent on its top 5 players?

The Celtics did as well as any team would while missing a few of their top 5 players.

Sixers aren't really dependent on their top 5 players, they just need their best player.  They have won plenty of games, even against some good teams, without another starter or even 2, but they are no where near the same team when Embiid isn't on the floor.  And I know that goes for all teams without their best player, but the Sixers have a much larger drop off then a lot of teams (it is better with Horford this year, but still a large drop off).  Boston doesn't fall apart without Kemba.  Obviously the C's are worse without Kemba, but you don't just write in a L like the Sixers have done a lot of without Embiid.

So the Bucks are now at 18 straight.  The next 2 are home games with the Mavs (tonight) and Lakers (Thursday).  Only 5 teams have won more than 20 straight games in the same season.  At some point, the lead NBA story will be their chase of the Lakers record of 33.  I guess my question is, how many games do they have to be at before it becomes the lead NBA story every night?  Will it start if they hit 20 after beating the Lakers or do they need to be at like 25?  Obviously if they hit like 30 the noise will be deafening.

Interestingly if they do keep winning, they would tie the record at home against the Knicks on January 14th and go for the record at home against the Celtics on January 16th.

It will start if they beat the Lakers.

They'd have started hyping it after the Mavericks game, but Doncic got hurt so that might tamp it down till LA next game.

I wouldn't be against Brad insisting on loan management for the entire starting unit on January 16th if the Bucks are trying to break the Lakers record.

Well to each his own, personally watching the Celtics beat up a bad team and winning is fun, but I'd rather they play a good game against a good team and let the chips fall where they may. To me, a win doesn't mean much if you're doing it against a depleted or talentless squad.

speaking of the Pelicans, I wonder when Holiday, Redick, and Favors are officially put on the trading block.

Luka "The Don" Doncic is my early choice for MVP.

I hope he has a speedy recovery.

Outside of perhaps LeBron James' early CLE teams has ANY other player did more with less?

No disrespect AT ALL to DAL team...they are also well-coached with one of the best out there in Carlysle but seriously this dude is basically carrying that team......

At the same time it looks like his handles have improved....his defense has improved somewhat....he looks a bit more defined as well - would not surprise me if he spent some time in the weight room........

Hardaway is a very good player....Krystaps is STILL getting his legs under him.

LeBron James should be IN the running for MVP but with his AD pairing he gets NOT my vote.

Luka Doncic is - SO FAR - my early season MVP.

Get well, Luka.
