Looks like Brooklyn's already enjoying the Kyrie Experience:

https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/27947336/for-culture-kd-kyrie-comes-next-nets

Yet Irving's infamous mood swings, confirmed by his ex-teammates, which followed him from Cleveland to Boston to Brooklyn, are the unspoken concern that makes Nets officials queasy. When Irving lapses into these funks, he often shuts down, unwilling to communicate with the coaching staff, front office and sometimes, even his teammates. Nets team sources say one such episode occurred during Brooklyn's trip to China, leaving everyone scratching their heads as to what precipitated it. There's hope that Durant will be able to coax his friend into a better frame of mind. But when presented with that scenario, KD says he will be hands off.

There has already been leeway to allow Irving to march to his own drum. The Nets are willing to look past moments like the photo shoot at the Pearl TV Tower in China, when Irving refused to remove his hat and instructed them to photoshop it out. They will focus more on the bigger issue of sharing the ball and maintaining good team chemistry.

Have fun guys!
Oh no question, Kyrie is a weird awkward dude that is a poor leader and terrible teammate.  I just don't think he quit in the playoffs last year.

This is the general disliking Kyrie thread now haha.

I don't think he quit either, but I think he pressed too hard which made him ineffective which led to him pressing even harder and playing worse. I don't think there was much consideration for his teammates in the last few Bucks games. Didn't quit, but did wind up actively hurting the team.

Overall his problems were never really lack of effort - dude took a lot of charges last year and was consistently aggressive. He struggles to fit his talents into a team concept without a clear alpha like LeBron next to him, and that's related to his general attitude issues in my opinion.

Lol nice.

There was also a video the other night during the game showing Kyrie getting frustrated and chewing out his teammates.

Funny how this kind of issue tends to follow him, eh?

I am sure Kyrie is not the only player in the NBA that is moody. In fact, many humans are moody creatures. What is becoming more apparent though, is he needs a deflector to take the light of him so he can be allowed to do his thing without every misstep being blown up. Lebron was that for a time and most likely, a healthy KD will be that again for him but this year, he is in a leadership role and the days he is moody are days his mates will need to tread lightly around him.

If his mates are already seeing this and Nets officials are as well this early on, this is not a good prelude to the remainder of this season for them. KD will change this for sure assuming his health returns next season. If it does not, it might not be long until Kyrie wants out.

If he needs to be the leader, it needs to be on a team far out of the media spotlight, Boston and NY are the worst places he could be to accomplish that. He would be better off somewhere like MN or Utah or Cleveland(had to say it )

I actually wish him well and hope he finds inner peace to alleviate the moodiness. I do not wish him championships though in our conference though as you are either with us or against us, and the Nets are not at the top of my favorite teams list for sure.

In a story about high-usage point guards, Ben Rohrbach of Yahoo dropped this data nugget:

Quote
Only four players have had the ball in their hands more than Irving through three games: Luka Doncic, Trae Young, LeBron James and Ben Simmons. Irving has made a third fewer passes per game than those four on average, ranking 31st in that regard. The ball is sticking with Irving more than anyone in the league right now, and while he has been fairly efficient, you wonder if a reliance on his singular brilliance comes at the detriment of the team operating optimally.

Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr famously pushed his record-setting offenses to pass 300 times per game, a number signifying that everyone is being included enough offensively to remain engaged on defense, too. The Nets currently rank 23rd in passes per game (260.7). They averaged 309 passes a night on last year’s surprising playoff run.

As the quoted portion of the article notes, the Nets have passed the ball 15% less this season compared to last season, so the evidence is that this is player-driven.

that doesn't mean it isn't coach driven.  different players with different strengths often dictates different game plans.

"Shut down during playoffs"

Perhaps not, I'm not inside his head.

"Got shut down in playoffs by Bucks."

Definitely, because I watched it happen on national TV.

Mods, feel free to merge this if necessary, but I figured most people would not see it in the dislike Irving thread (and this is a national story that came out today).

https://sports.yahoo.com/report-nets-officials-concerned-about-kyrie-irvings-mood-swings-145753427.html

This happened much quicker than i would have thought. If Irving is just historically moody and strange, not sure how reasonable it would have been for the Celtics to expect that given that everything was always crazy on the Cavs surrounding Lebron.

Mods: Sorry I made a new thread on this, and missed the other posts, but do feel like this is getting a bit confusing. I personally was really happy the "Did irving quit" "Did  brown throw shade at Irving" etc threads all get merged together for people to generally complain about irving. However, the reason I was happy was because i didn't have to read it across three to five threads all the time on the forum. However, would it be possible if there is actually a relevant national news story about Kyrie like Jac Mac writing a story on him we can keep it up for a day or so before just merging it into a dislike kyrie thread? Otherwise kind of hard to separate relevant news from actual disliking Irving threads.

I get some satisfaction out of Kyrie continuing his crap when radio hosts in Boston repeatedly mocked Celtics fans who didn’t want Kyrie back. Nothing wrong with difference of opinion but mocking the fans is so lame.

seems the nets are already experiencing the kyrie effect. caveat emptor.

I think he'll get something but personally the only video they should play upon his return is clips of him stating how much he likes playing for the C's and that he'd sign if Boston would have him and then all the following comments he made about his contract as the season progressed
