Per The Athletic's Jay King, Tatum used his offseason growth spurt as a point of comparison with the Milwaukee Bucks star.

"I tell everybody I've got the same genes as Giannis," he said. "I'm still growing. Like, three more inches and 30 more pounds."

King noted Tatum has grown three-quarters of an inch since being drafted in 2017 and is now 6'7⅝" but will be rounded up to 6'8" on the Celtics' official roster.

If he ends up 6'11 and 240-250 then watch out world. Feel like it's a bit of a tongue in cheek statement though

Would be nice if he gets to 6'-10" to 6'-11". That easily solves our PF depth problem.

He is 21.5 years old. Its extremely unlikely he grows significantly, almost no one continues to grow at that age.

Yeah I think height-wise he is what he is.

6'9'' with long arms and fluid grace is pretty good as it is though.

Seems like just a bunch of joking going on. The size of the Tatum we see now will be the same size as the Tatum we see years from now. Height wise that is. Hopefully he can add 15 or more pounds of man muscle over the next 3 years or so. And yes, I would rather he grow naturally into that size than just show up next year 20 pounds of muscle later. Guess I am funny that way about some of the additives some players take to suddenly get big.

6'-8" without shoes.  He is PF size in height and reach.  Now he needs to get to PF strength without losing his touch or quickness.  In the old method he'd be called 6'-9" or even 6'-10" with shoes.

he's 6'8. sorry I'm a stickler.

agreed. i’m dating myself, but would prefer to avoid the 1990 lenny dykstra phenomenon.  ;)

that was freakish. 160lbs to 190lbs in a single offseason.

Wasn't Rodman like 6'6, and Barkley 6'5?

Good, he needs an inch or two plus 20-30 extra pounds to be the monster we need him to be.

Yes. There has long  been this confusion around the heights of NBA players. That’s what makes the new policy so good. It’s easier to get a sense of how guys match up.
