If a player is dropped, cut or waived from 2 way is that spot then open.
The Celts bought Red Claws as they will sell out if Tacko plays. There will be national exposure and TV games will draw a massive audience.Shirt sales will go through the roof once he is signed to any kind of deal-two way or roster. The Celtics have a huge PR move and a possible fan legend.
We got The Timelord and now The  Time Keeper.
But Tacko must be signed. He is smart and he loves the game

Then the humanitarian aspect The kids in hospitals will light up in awe,the inner city kids will flock to him as will Harvard ,MIT.
Not to forget the kids in Africa while he is there with Embid and his publicity as the NBA world broadens
.A couple of years with trainers and coaches he will still be only 25.

Yes, if Waters or Strus is cut or waived, that opens a spot.

Teams are only allowed 2 players on 2-way contracts.

But here's the thing, if the Celts waive Tacko when training camp is over, Tacko will either accept the 50k bonus to join the Red Claws or sign with another team that will be willing to include him on their 15-man roster.

There's just no way Tacko will choose the 50k to join the Red Claws.
It's in Tacko's best interest to join an NBA team and be a part of their 15-man roster.

That's why I think Ainge will have no choice but to include Tacko on the 15-man roster this coming season.

I don’t think you’re correct.  If Tacko is waived, he can get claimed by a team.  If he doesn’t he claimed, he’s not signing with another team, because they just could have picked claimed him, so he’ll go to Maine.

You’re forgetting that when/if he’s waived, it will be at the end of training camp when all the other teams will have full rosters as well, meaning they’ll have to likely waive someone else to bring in a rookie the entire league already passed on more than once.  I’d be surprised if Tacko lasted the entire year in Maine, without getting picked up by someone (including the C’s), but I would not be all that surprised if he went there initially.
