Somethings wrong with that kids brain

we will see him on TV one day in handcuffs ...beating up his wife or kids or next door neighbor .   His brain chemistry is way off and he needs meds to control his actions .   My guess without meds , he'll be behind bars or institutionalized by 50 .  The odd looks on his face is not normal , frankly a bit scary .

Despite my earlier lighter post about it, I wouldn't be surprised if someday he does need some kind of help from a pro...meds or whatever.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
This episode makes me appreciate Marcus Smart even more. Why? Because based on everything in Smart's history that should have led him to be an angry, out-of-control, emotional basket case, he has somehow channeled everything in his past towards a determination to get better and play the right way. He has the occasional outburst -- that shove on Embiid from late in last year's regular season comes to mind -- but that has become the exception rather than the rule. Got to be impressed by Smart's self-discipline, given what he's endured in his life.

I mean, I love me some Marcus, but he is probably not your best example of a dude who channels his out-of-control energy. I mean, sure, he does most of the time, but the fan in college, the picture frame, and Embiid don't show him in the best light. Hopefully as he gets older, he continues to mature. Same with Grayson, but to a greater extent - weird behavior from that dude so far in a short career.

2 flagrants in 7 seconds, it's dickishly impressive.

I like how GW knew that he was getting under Allen's skin and played to it

Oh yeah, Williams went right back to the well with that back screen just five seconds after play resumed.  Very smart.  He knew Allen might respond.
yeah, smart play by GW. it reminded me of what smart did to harden to make harden melt down at the end of the game. i loved that.  ;D

You're assuming he could beat anybody up. The guy is a wuss and cheap shot artist.  :)
he is 6'5" and weighs 198. he obviously doesnt mind hitting people. he can, unfortunately, beat up a lot of people with that size and mentality.

Let’s not forget the picture punching episode that nearly cost him his season just a year ago.

Smarts' gone through a lot of crap in his life. But he is a good example of an angry person who on the most part controls his issues. you're talking about a handful of issues over 7ish years. Grayson's played a year of college? and a year of Proball and he's had more issues than Smart at this point. Usually Smart has a reason to go at some one, not an excuse, but some one yells a racial slur, some one tries to black mail you"rumored", you go off....

Pushing Embiid....Guy runs his mouth, Smart was going to cash that check. LOL

Difference between Smart and Grayson is Grayson is a dirty player, were Smart is  a no nonsense person.

Yeah, but SMart is really only hurting himself"kinda the team", but Grayson is trying to hurt other people.

Respect the fact the ESPN announcers pulled no punches while this was going on.  Rightfully critical of Grayson.

oh yeah, I was actually a bit shocked at how open they were about calling him out.
but those two announcers were really saying what they thought the whole game.  it was refreshing

Yes.  Any comparison of Smart to Allen is extremely lazy.

Allen is probably shooting for a spot in the top 5 cheap shot artists in the NBA.  He really needs to up his game to get into the list though...

1. Kermit Washington
2. Rick Mahorn
3. Andrew Bynum
4. Zaza P.
5. Metta World Peace
6. Bill Laimbeer
7. Bruce Bowen
8. Dwight Howard
9. D. Wade

I'd add Dwight to that list blink.

Though his dirty elbows hit teammates as often as opponents.
