76'ers Crushed

Cav's run out of gym

Summer league national regional Las Vegas championship in the air.

Tacko misses tying Big Ten scoring champs output by one basket. This is summer league madness...

I think Edwards has looked like an NBA player during the minutes I have seen him today.
I just wish he was 3 inches taller

He would have been a top 5 pick and drafted by another team so I like him just the way he is.

tonight's takeaways:
- Tacko looks like he's more than the novelty I thought he'd be.  worth a camp invite.
- Timelord's not ready for primetime.  spot minutes at most to start the season
- Carson and G-Will look like they may be able to contribute a bit this season.  nothing significant but some help to the more experienced players this year.
- Waters looks like a good PG.  3rd backup by next year -- maybe this year if they move/cut Wanamaker

Tacko looks great, but also gets gassed super quick.

timelord is still raw as hell but he's showing some effort out there.  anyone thinking he's our starting center this year is kidding themselves

The one thing I'd say for him is that he's always going to be the type of player who looks better with good teammates.  He can't create offense, so he won't shine in settings like this.  He needs good players around him who demand a lot of attention and bend a defense.

I don't disagree with your assertion.  I think he's very raw and not a starter myself.  I just think he's not the type of player who we can learn about in the summer league.

I was getting ready to post this exact thought. TP.

He won't be ready to start by game 1, but give him a good 20-25 minutes a night off the bench and I think he'll be starting for us by the end of the season. He's an easy double-double guy with enough minutes with his elite athleticism and rebounding.

Disagree with your time lord assessment. He played hard and made his presence felt. He is our best defensive big and expect he will get decent backup minutes.

Well he's the same height as Kemba at least.

he'll get some minutes, not a lot without some serious improvement in his help/team defense.

expecting C minutes to go primarily to Kanter and Theis

Happy to see jpotter and footey come to the defense of Timelord. Personally, I think he looks great out there! I understand that he isn't going to be starting the season in the starting 5, but he is mobile as heck, has improved ball-handling ability (apparently), can make the right pass, and is much more engaged than I've seen him previously.

The thing with guys like Timelord is that they often look tentative until it all clicks. I am not saying this will definitely happen, but as he gets more comfortable out there, I think he will look more decisive/assertive. He looks vastly improved from last season and still has 3 months of training to go.

Tacko was efficient and dominant at times. Edwards started off slow, but then mixed it up with some outside shooting and taking it to the hoop. Timelord was all over the place in a good way - his work is really paying off. Waters was solid all-around.

Yabusele was hustling, but looked pretty bad once again. An early finger injury probably didn't help him get in any groove.

Tacko needs to go to Hakeem center school.
