Barring significant injuries, who will be better next year ? Lakers or the Clippers ? I understand Celtics fans will be rooting for the Clips next year to beat out Lebron. But, which team has the best chance of reaching the finals ?  The Lakers just added Danny Green, Jared Dudley, Caldwell-Pope and JaVale McGee to go along with James, AD and Kuzma. The Clippers now have Leonard, George, Beverly, Lou Williams, Harrell, Gallinari, Zubac and Shamet. Both squads are pretty impressive and certainly will be the two Vegas favorites.

Gallinari is in OKC

The Clippers have the deeper team, but I don't know that they are all that much better than the Lakers (at least assuming they get some decent PG's).  And it isn't like many teams have players that can guard both Lebron and Davis.  That includes the Clippers who can defend Lebron better than anyone with both Kawhi and PG, but I don't think either of them can guard Davis.  I mean is Harrell or Zubac actually going to defend Davis.  I don't think so.

Is this even a question? The Clippers are contenders, while the Lakers aren't even a lock to make the playoffs barring sudden depth acquisitions.

Clippers are better because they have the current best player in the game in Kawhi, sorry but old man LeBron is not as good as him.  One can also make an argument that that George is better than Davis.

Clippers easily. Better duo in age, better roster around them, better coach, and better organization.

Clippers, IMO.

They STILL have Montrezl Harell, Patrick Beverly AND Louis Williams. Get AI from MEM and another 1-2 decent vets and they are right there...

As I posted in another thread - MASTERFUL moves by Jerry West! "Almost" Auerbachian.

This should be a poll, and I would guess it would be about 90% in the Clippers favor.  Lol

I have to go with the Clippers right now. But Lebron and AD is a dangerous tandem. Lebron is a maestro and AD is a newly acquired, finely tuned instrument. But I question Lebron's decline due to age and the team fit around them is yet to unfold completely. The Lakers did a terrible job last year putting pieces around Lebron.

I also question Kawhi's health a little bit too though.

I think the whole league is up for grabs more than people might think. We have become accustomed to knowing who will be in the Finals when Lebron was there every year and Golden State dominated every year. But that was light years ago in NBA time.

I take the question to be in regards to this season.  I'd say the Clippers but its pretty close.  AD is the best player including fit that James has played with.

I can't see how this is even a question.

Leonard is the best of the bunch, and Paul George could be on LeBron's level if LBJ continues to decline. And then you have 2 players who could have won 6MOTY (one being the winner) on the Clippers in Lou Will and Montrezl, an elite defensive guard in Beverley and a good coach in Doc.
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

I say Cousins go to Clippers

And Doc Rivers is probably one of the few coaches out there who can manage him and get the best out of him.

I hope he goes there...add more size to beat up on the Lakers.

Dude, where is the poll? You have to add one before it's too late  :o

I am just happy Kawhi made the Lakers wait all that time only to end up with Danny Green and KCP.

I do wonder if LAC would rather have traded that package for AD instead of George - definitely a better fit than Kawhi. I don't think they are too upset, though, and they couldn't have been expected to give up all of that without a commitment from Kawhi. The Lakers at least already had Lebron.

Both teams need to finish filling out their rosters, but it has to be the Clippers. Leonard and George are two of the best 2-way players still in their prime, and they have a better supporting cast.
