Blake has really transformed his game. When healthy, he’s a legit star player. The issue is he’s always hurt and hurt when it matters too.

Not at the expense of Hayward.  If we just added Griffin to the existing team, then probably.

I think the answer, from a roster standpoint, is obvious. We’d be improved and have greater balance. Our bigs positions wouldn’t be such a glaring weakness and we wouldn’t have an overstock of wings/swings.

Having said that, I wouldn’t be willing to forfeit the package it would require to get Blake and his health is of serious question and concern. But the same could be said about Hayward (his ability to return to form following injury).

What package are we talking about giving up to land him (theoretically speaking)?

TP for the original thought as Blake hasn’t been discussed as a trade option recently speaking.

This post has made me realize how terrible our bench is. Hopefully Poirier can come in and start so Kanter can be the scorer off of the bench or Edwards is as good as I hope he is.
2019 historical draft.  Pick 12

Tim Duncan, Oscar Robertson, Elgin Baylor, Scottie Pippen, Willis Reed, Mitch Richmond, Sam Jones, Dan Majerle, Bob Cousy, Rasheed Wallace, Shawn Kemp, Marcus Camby

My rule of thumb: if you have to ask, the answer is always no

Btw Hayward is staying for life

Boy, I better never request time-off from my job.

Or ask the grocery clerk if they have any milk left.

Totally out of the blue. Just say we could trade Hayward plus 3 firsts picks for him. Would that make us a real threat to win it all?

Kanter
Blake Griffin
Tatum
Brown
Kemba

Smart, Romeo, Timelord, Grant Williams, Semi, Carsen Edwards,  Theis, Tacko, Porier

I think it's a very good question. Not sure if Blake is the guy, but I do feel we are one player short of being a great team.

Right now we are a good team, somewhere between the 4-5 seed category.

I fee like with a player of Blake's category, were easily number 3 in the East and yes, better than Philly!

Number 2 in the East if Kawhi leaves Toronto.

You think Haywards 11 points a game is that crucial?

Oh shut it. Hayward is going to average more than that.

I hate to point out the obvious here, but Hayward's been healthy.. He played 81 games last season including the playoffs... This is who he is.

Thats not true. His bone is healed but the ligaments and muscles werent there yet. Plus the fatigue from playing and rehabbing at the same time is why hed have good and bad games.

He was also playing heavier for most of the season.

Now if he plays like that next season. Then you can claim that.

if case anyone is interestered below are the number of games griffin has played each season recently:

2015-16 = 35
2016-17 =61
2017-18 =58
2018-19 = 75

his athleticism is dropping and he is 30 years old. he doesnt play under or close to the basket anymore either. he settles for jump shots. his defense is not good either. pairing him with kanter will be inviting teams to simply drive to the basket.

and he is due to be paid an average of $35 million/year for the next 3 years.

this is not a player you invest your future in. the premise to this thread is not well thought out.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.
